SUPERB Tom Pidcock Creates History | Strade Bianche 2023 | Eurosport
Спорт
Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) became the first male British rider in history to win on the white roads of Tuscany with a magnificent solo victory in Strade Bianche on Saturday. The 23-year-old all-rounder kicked clear inside the final 50km of an exciting race and never looked back as a stellar chase group behind failed to gel on the approach to Siena.

That was a beast of an effort. dropping the entire peloton, soloing for that long until the finish line.
Superb victory for TP. He left CX a bit earlier than MVDP and WVA and also had a few road races before this. It looks like it paid off big time.

Yes, sure
Great to see the skills on the dirt, huge difference between TP and the rest in these sections. Confidence from his MTB experience...
What a rider ! He masters so much cycling skills with such a simplicity and humility ! 🎉🎉🎉
Best descender in the peloton already. Also, kudos for qualifying that he's the first male British rider to win Strade.
2:33 Thomas Pidcock bringing a whole new meaning to 'smoking the opposition'. What. a. Race.

Absolutely brilliant!!
Bravo!!
Great footage commentary and interview
Absolutely magnificent win. What a man! Best of luck for 2024.
His watts per kilo must be out of this world!!!!! How does a tiny guy like that go solo for almost 50k!! Cyclocross, yes! Mountain biking!! He’s built for that!! But TTing and winning road races with no long mountain top finish!!? Respect!!

Epic Result for Tom Pidcock 🇬🇧
Congrats P
Anyone know what tires Pidcock was running?
Why is this a 15 min video about Pidcock winning without his initial attack out of the peloton? @gcn can't you give them some tips on what should be included in a highlights video?
❤🎉😊
Disk brakes breaking skulls.
Apart from the very last climb, he spent all day in the big ring up those kicker. Top ride
Pidcock has established himself for the upcoming season and looks capable of winning the tour if he gets some help.

pidcock will not win the tour. he will do well to win one grand tour in his career. skills appropriate to a one day race don't necessarily lend themselves to a grand tour

It would be a shame if he focused on TdF. Lighting up the classics and winning spectacular stages would be more fun. However, Pog & Vin are riding GT differently while also competing in other races. But to try to follow their example would take away from cross, mtb, and gravel fun

jumbo had 2 people there, they should have given one of them up to chase tom back
Shame there wasn’t any white roads in these highlights…..Chapeau Tom! Big things to come this year

Hope they do find a way to use drones and on-board cameras. Motorbikes and cars on the gravel would be dangerous and dusty (dust being extremely bad for lungs as building trade knows only too well where workers aren't breaching to the max)

There's generally two smooth lines??? You've never ridden there have you...

I think he was trying to say there were two "hard packed" lines where the car tyres run, smooth is not a word I would have used about those cart tracks......

Disappointing that the following pack effectively decided to not seriously fight for first place - hardly makes it worthwhile watching - good luck to Pidcock,,,as for the rest - deserved losers

Quite common for chasers to have a 'sod you' attitude to rest of the group who let one or two riders do the work so they can sprint away when the catch is made. Only takes a few moments of parasite-resentment and the chase fails. Pidcock's descending is a big weapon against chasers
Banal commentry
'creates history'.. that's such a cliché. Why not just say 'wins a race'? Not 'epic' enough? Or 'destroys the competition'? Using terms like that disqualifies any reporter.

Superb doping 💉💉💉💉
@FearTheIndoorHorseRancher

He must’ve been doping since he was a young child then because he’s been dominant in anything he’s done when it comes to a bike since then. He’s a genuine prodigy. Doping wouldn’t do anything to help him and make him so good on the downhill either, which is one of the reasons he’s so good in the first place and there’s a ton of riders he’s competing against who are way more sus than him. He was competing with elite adults while he was barely a teenager. He’s always been world class in every single age group and in multiple disciplines.
