A young head was definitely a better accesory than any of the stuff he got with the exemption of the bald head. His regular sword and chain mail would've been great too.

A cool figure! I don't mind the limited articulation due to the outfit design. It's JAGA. He's old, and didn't do much "action" stuff if the series. He can pose well for what he is. I'm fine with that. Some of these animated designs don't always translate well into an action figure. This being one of them. But again, it's JAGA, so he'll look good standing tall and wise.

Finally!! Lion-Os “Obi-Wan” is here. Jaga is worth the wait!!

This guy is also a highly anticipated one for me, as is Grune. It's the idea of them as a pair that excites me more. One without the other isn't the same. It's like Lion-O without Mumm-Ra or He-Man without Skeletor. Grune is Jaga's main villain, as you know. They also have that history of being former friends. I always liked that story arc in Thundercats. This figure looks better in the vid than it did in that photograph where he's still in the package. He is essential like you say. He may not have been an active core member of the group on third earth but most fans know that he used to be the main Thundercat at one time and was the group leader in the very first episode.

I wish we could have gotten a loose helmet to couple with the bald sculpt, just to hold.

Big Bad Toy Store should give us an exclusive translucent blue Spirit of Jaga figure.

This is what I'm hoping for. Old man Jaga doesn't super excite me and the accessories...kinda meh.

I'd love to see a 'spirit' blue version of Jaga, similar to the spirit Hordak figure. Can you imagine how awesome that would be!

I really do wish the Ultimates label referred to the likeness, not a bag full of not so useful accessories. That said, I am glad the wait is over and we are starting to get some (nevertheless) nice figures.

I LOVE how they handled his leotard! Nice!!!!

I hope at some point, Super7 might release a translucent/glow in the dark version of this guy for his spirit

Also agree about the Classics style. As much as I'm looking forward to the NECA D&D I do wish they were this style, but they're awesome either way.

I had to to search eBay for the SDCC exclusive Wily Kit & Wily Kat figure set. I paid reasonable price for a brand new one too. I forgotten all about the fact that the kittens would be shown and sold at the event. If SUPER 7 decides to (re)release them, I would only buy it if there were enough differences between the Matty Collector’s SDCC one and the one SUPER 7 will release. I imagine that since Snarf was made into a figure, SUPER 7 might make it a 3 pack; Wily Kit, Wily Kat, & Snarf. I am still surprised that Snarf did not come with Lion-O to begin with.

Great review. How does he scale to he man classics and mythic legions ? He needs his belt and his sword I would like a affordeable line at retail thundercats origins

Because the company is beyond cheap and they have zero ethics. They have lied so many times in the past they don't even know what the truth is.

Jaga lookin a bit like Heihachi from Tekken with that bald head sculpt. Anyhow, he does look really cool. I like all the options you get with him but I agree it would have been nice to see a young head sculpt.

Does anyone have any suggestions where to get display stands( for the holes in their feet) so I can display my Thundercats Ultimate figures without them falling?

Is it me or did they go way too heavy on the black eyeliner? The white doesn't stick out near as much. Kind of looks like an old Neca paintjob. Look forward to seeing the ghost variant.

If you have rotating knees, do you really need a boot cut? I think I'll live. Just wish I would have waited to ship my pile of loot; didn't realize Jaga was coming so soon!

I think it looks great overall, but he does come off as a bit too swole. Hope you and the fam are feeling better. 👋

I dislike that his legs twist outward when he does a front kick. Other than that the figure looks like a great collectible.

Do you not wonder why we can't get Grune and Pumyra sooner, like we have with these 3? As far as I know wave 2 contained two incorrect figures that needed to be re-done and wave 3 contained 1. If Grune and Pumyra don't need to be re-done then why are they not with Super7 being prepared for shipment to the fans who have pre-ordered? There would be no need to send them back to China or delay them if they're ready. Getting as many correct figures out as possible, as soon as possible would be a good move. The customer is always right and should always come first. Giving us the rest of wave 3 when 1 figure was incorrect was a good move and a much better outcome for fans at this point. Having to wait even longer to get the whole wave together would have been a disaster at this point.

Wave 2, they're using a factory in China for production. Same factory used by larger toy manufacturers, Mattel, etc. Super7 have explained, as they are a smaller company than the likes of Mattel, their products are not a main priority, compared to the larger toy companies. Therefore, Wave 2 has had multiple production delays. Super7 have changed factory for Wave 3 / 4. - Now using their primary factory, instead of the Factory used for wave 2. This is why we get Wave 3 & 4 before Wave 2.

@@stacks9079 That is correct but it looked like wave 2 was ready to go until it was realised that two of the figures were incorrect. I think other companies have jumped the queue but I don't like that. It should be first come, first serve regardless of the size of the companies because of the principle involved. Super7 were right to change factories. Although the new one concerns me too because they've messed up Cheetara.

Grune and Jaga were shown at powercon a few years back before Super7 got the license and there was uncertainty if Mattel was continuing the line

Great review!! I hope I’m wrong, but I feel that Super 7 is going to discontinue this line. Doesn’t seem that they care about it at all.

I think they care. They had issues with the factory they sent some of the Thundercats to, hence the masssssive delays. TMNT went back to their normal factory, as did wave 4 of Thundercats. Fear not!

Super7 charges way too much money for their action figures, don't get me wrong, the figures look good and normally have lots of accessories but the engineering is so simple that they should be priced way lower. Thanks for the review Toy Bro.

Neca's action figures also look very god and also lack a bit in the engineering department. Super7's plastic may be a bit better but Neca's painting is more detailed, they both have expensive licenses and lots of accessories. In the end Neca's price for quality relation is way better then Super7.

Great review as always, but have to disagree with you on the soft goods capes. MUCH prefer the plastic ones, especially in this case. Jaga's soft cape just does not look right to me. The Shredder and Mumm-Ra capes were ok, but this one just looks too big and bulky. The plastic cape's aesthetics looks much better to me. I hope they continue to offer both options for all figures with capes, however.

I quit super 7. They cant get anything released in time. Cheetara and Tygra wont come out till next year. I preordered them longggg ago. Dont they have swearshops working hard???
