Sorry for the wall of text, but from what I know of Metal Gear Solid, Snake is a super soldier who has stoically faced down many people who were both incredibly powerful as well as some who were downright terrifying yet has done so without (outwardly) showing fear. So the fact that just being in the presence of Ganondorf led to Snake getting so unnerved that he actually starts panicking, something that Otacon points out *never happens*, demonstrates both how deserved Gabobdorf is of the title "King of Darkness", and how Snake, much like Luigi, is brave enough to still face Ganondorf in spite of his previous reaction.

Snake wanting to capture and eat Yoshi is just the most Snake thing he can say and I love it.

The Japanese voice actor of Snake is Akio Otsuka, the Japanese voice actor of Dr. Eggman is Chikao Otsuka, Chikao is Akio’s father which means Snake is basically Dr. Eggman Jr., Chikao also voiced Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid 4 who is also Snake’s father

For anyone who is wondering why the fighters not in Brawl did not have Codec calls: It's because Nintendo did not do any out of respect for the late Japanese VA for Colonel Campbell (in Japan, voice acting is a respected culture, and Hideo Kojima has said Roy would never appear in another game after the Japanese VA died).

I can understand. But it would be awesome, since it’s a bit outdated, notably for Bowser (He’s faster than Snake!), Sheik (She (Sheik’s gender is still ambitious. I’ll go with female pronouns) can’t transform into Zelda during a battle) and maybe even Falco (Slippy, where’s Snake’s new weapon???).

The fact they went as far as to include Codec with the characters voicing them is an attestment to how much effort they put into each character. Like how when youre fighting Dracula, his first form only takes damage to the head.

You can tell they had so much fun writing these, this is wonderful. Totally would fit in a proper MGS game - though it sounds like they just reused the voice lines from Brawl, since they mentioned it.

The codecs make sense when you realized that Snake, being Third Party, is in unfamiliar territory, and he needs all the information he can get.

Gosh I wish they got the voice actors to do new codecs. Imagine how a codec for Simon or Richter would be, or with the Kid Icarus crew
