Looks like a nice rig for those days when it's too cold or snowy out to go outside with the big boys. I would definitely build a little indoor course. I can see this being a fun distraction and something to chase my cats around with. They love my trucks! Thanks, RC Girl. Ok I need this just for the transmitter, it does look like a laser blaster *PEW PEW PEW* lol, the smaller scales are great fun and this with the hard body and interior has so much potential for a good paint job and weathering, Im liking it.

Nice review! I agree that the turn signals are kind of silly and wouldn't be used on a real crawler on the trail. I wish there was a way to turn them off.

Those micro crawlers are great for rainy or cold weather days or if you just don't have time to get out a bigger rig to run around inside. I have seen where some people have made crawler courses out of that pink foam board insulation stuff.

The battery connector is actually pretty common on toy grade drones (quadcopters).

Good review the vehicle looks great too bad it comes with a 5 wire servo but when it damage just upgrade all electronics, I wonder if you can change the 55T motor for a 180 🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Body removal is 6 screws the ladder on the back has a backplate that you need to remove

Looks a lot like the WPL trucks though a bit smaller. I have to get my Land Cruiser body painted still for my WPL.

Got one from my wife for xmas. Love it! Rear end is starting to sag a bit though….have u ever changed the shocks? Not sure how they’d wear out if they’re not oil filled….any idea?

Mine does the same thing. I also added some weight to it to keep it from wanting to roll. The stock springs are quite soft. Ive ordered some slightly stiffer springs for a scx24. Once i install them ill get back to you to let you know how they worked

@@harrisonschroeder120 So the springs i ordered were too small. I ordered some aluminum shocks(the ones that have the spring covered) for a scx24, also too small but the spring inside happened to be of a similar stiffness to the stock springs. I took the springs from the aluminum shocks(they're quite small) and added them to the bottom of the stock shocks. Added enough support while keeping the same amount of flex.

I have the rochobby version, esc/receiver died after 3 weeks. Tried getting ahold of them and they don't reply. Can't find a replacement for it either.

Hayley, where can the Patriot be purchased? Great entry for me.

I'm about 10 to 15 battery uses in and I have had a catastrophic failure on the katana version of this truck. I can hear the motor turning but the wheels are not. Right before this I heard a clicking as it was driving and then it just stopped. I assume the gears are stripped inside the little transmission but I am not sure. The lights work, the turn signals work, the wheels turn, and the motor is responding as if it should be moving but it seems as thought the driveshafts and the motor are no longer connected. I would guess the problem is pretty self explanatory but I just wanted to check. Do you have any websites for replacement parts for this little truck? I watched your Defender upgrade video to see if it would help me but all that did was add the Defender to my Christmas list. ha ha Have you had any failures on this truck also?

I got the DX5 rugged radio, it only has 5 channels ...how can I add a light bar that I can turn on and off seperately if all my channels are full? What would you recommend?

I'm having the same issue. The next step up in surface transmitter channels is a huge jump in price unfortunately. Spektrum surface only goes up to 5 I think. So you'd have to get something like the futaba 7channel which goes for $700 😩 I think there are some more obscure companies that make cheaper ones but I'm not familiar with them

Get a hacked flysky gt3b/c. I bought mine for like 50 bucks on Ebay and got an 8 channel receiver.

Katana has metal chassis rails. I think there might be a few other minor differences, but yes they are very similar

Love your vids. Great review. I have the Katana (love it) and have done a few mods to it. Besides the ESC not being waterproof, the pumpkins look larger/different on the EazyRC version as well. (I believe those tires are knock-off Goodyear MTRs)... And the front turn signals are actually in the outer position on the EasyRC!
