I am sad that you had to explain all that Meg, but I understand and praise you for being so transparent for the viewers who may not understand you put your horses first, always! Fun video to watch, thanks for sharing, Bear is so cute ❤

Ponies can carry more weight than some might think, but of course there is a limit for every horse or pony. Well done for addressing it in such a balanced way. I shrieked with joy when I saw the video and grinned all the way through. 😄

I just want to put my 2 cents in about weight - firstly, I think you have the upmost care and respect for your horses and ponies and I dont think for one second you would ride them if you felt you would cause them pain or injury in any way - just look at Ari and the way you care for him

I think it was a really good idea to address the weight debate as away of preempting the possibility of negative comments and reassuring your followers that it is an important part of horse ownership.

Han and Hobbit are the best sidekicks for horsey adventures. Bear looks amazing and sassy

I was thinking the same! Bear will bring a new kick of confidence Meg didn’t know she had tucked away as cheeky ponies without malice do wonders for confidence in one’s abilities and it’ll transfer onto everything she sits on! Meg you look absolutely fab onboard as always I can’t wait to see more 😅 and Han when megs busy and you’re free you definitely have to steal some rides at home and some shows, you ride 1 sassy mare so what’s another ey! 😜 I’m sorry you felt the need to have to address weight but applaud you for it to pre backhand slap away any trolls that come your way!

So great to see Bear back and wow! You rode her shenanigans so well, even one handed at times! Thank you for addressing human and horse weight in such a positive manner. People forget that horses do have varying capacities depending on their size, health and fitness. You did a great job explaining it all- really helpful to people who may not know, reassuring to anyone who wondered and forestalling the negative comments. You and Bear looked great today, clearly both having fun!

Thank you so much for talking about the weight aspect! I think it’s a wonderful education for younger riders who aren’t as familiar with the 15-20% rule and how important that is to the welfare of the horse. Once again, you are showing that you put your horses first by thinking it through and that’s a wonderful lesson for all of us.

Awww so great to see you and Bear back together. I used to ride a 13.2 hh pony, and he was a super boy. Im a big ol' adult so no fear your doing the wrong thing. You know your ponies better than anyone and besides if Bear didn't want you to rofe her she'd soon tell you.

I admire your patience with the adverse comment side of your work. It amazes me how judgmental people have become. You handle things with grace and kindness that really shows the depth of your EQ. It is not easy when people expect you to be a role model which you clearly perform to the best of your ability. There are many things we could say about the individuals making the comments but life is too short to use energy with such an endeavour.

You look absolutely great on her, even now. Slow and steady as you are and she’ll be absolutely fine. Everyone who knows your channel knows that your horses’ welfare is first and foremost. They all live a life many horses can only dream of. Looking forward to the formidable duo back together. I’ll have to go and watch some old videos to remind me of those good old days and those to come 🙌🏻💫

It’s so good you’re thinking about weight and what your ponies can carry! The 20% rule is a good guideline but it also very much depends on the horse and rider! A heavier breed will often be able to carry more than a lighter one for example, but rider ability is also crucial! A well-balanced heavier rider will be much easier for a horse to carry than sloppy lighter one! You’re a balanced rider and within the 20% so you’ll be perfectly fine on Bear! Unfortunately in the horse world someone will always find something wrong
