So back when Z1 came out and we first saw Asakim and the Shorunga, AKA 'Evil Masaki and Cybuster', a look of people were theorizing we might end up seeing a likewise 'Good' version of Shu and the Granzon. While I can't speak for Hibiki himself, I feel like Genion has quite a bit in common with the Granzon. Both have a similar blue color scheme and transformation gimmick, GAI has got a similar bulky build to the regular Granzon, plus a similar chest-canon and use of portals, and Ray continue the use of portals, plus its wings give a similar looking profile to Neo's back-halo.

The Cybuster, when they hadn't decided what the Cybuster and the Granzon would look like yet.

The machines prototype was... Bruce lee? But no, serious guess (probably wrong) would be Gadlights robot (Which I forgot the name of)

wingshad0w00982 Actually the completed Geminion's prototype was as Starq guessed was Chaos Lemurus, you can see it during Geminion Rays debut stage when you can see a head sprite that looks like Chaos Lemurus's head.

Ialdabaoth + Astranagant = this guy.

darkness2101 To me, given it teleporting at 0:50 and that psuedo-black hole at 2:43-2:48, it'd be the Neo Granzon to Genion GAI's Granzon, since Shuroga is a black-colored Cybuster.

Angel IV Esguerra The Hound Bits work as Gate Bits that Geminion Ray uses for teleporting...which is actually a new thing too. Sure [Q]uant uses the sword bits to create Quantum Warp Gate... one.
