Ali C. If Yamato had better AA those planes would not be enough to sink Yamato. Number of AA guns was not the problem but rather the guns themselves were ineffective compared to American AA armament. They say that main cannons could also fire anti air flak ammuniton but it was never done so I can’t say anything but if they did fire them then Yamato could have at least destroyed more planes

It really puts in perspective how broken it is when you can't use the Wave Motion Gun, its strongest weapon, and yet it's considered to be one of the best units.

It's basically the crutch character who is powerful even when it comes back. Yeah, it can kill anything it looks at but watch out for stage 8 because it can't move nor you can't even get it hit at all costs. And then when that's done, you won't even have it for quite some time. So you're better off just leveling up your main character (or let the MC hog all the kills as well so you can get the Bronze Emblem quickly.)

The correct title for this game is "Yamato blows up everything." hahaha

Yamato could easily solo the whole Isacandar campaign, that's why they made him fight for 3 Planet Earths and 2 space invaders alongside Mobile Suits to make the game balanced.

I hope one day to see the Yamato and the Arcadia from Captain Harlock together in a future SRW game, it'll be awesome sight to see.

The Yamato to me impresses on it's debut AND surpasses the Nadesico in J plus the Minerva in Z... it's powerful, bulky, range-like, a barrier that is hard to pierce, all co-pilots have brilliant sp pool with that Wave Motion Gun for massive damage. Any battleship now coming into SRW will have a large chip on their back.

Yamato's WMG at 10 upgrades breaks the typical 9999 cap. It goes up to 10600 iirc. That's not even considering the spirit set either as Okita himself gets Soul and Kodai gets Love iirc.

Ah, Yamato. When you want to give the Valguard a serious run for its money for strongest battleship. If we're NOT counting super robots pulling double duty I don't think there's much contest. I mean the freaking point defense guns hit like a train.

I have not seen any of the Yamato animes but I am aware of their significance. I'd think between actually being able to read a SRW game, thanks for the translation, the Yamato theme and the sheer fire power I fell in love with the unit.

It is on par with top-tier super robots.

Because of this game and a few clips off of KZread I plan to get the Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Blu Rays. Sounds like a very well done remake of the original with improvements.

man...this thing has a lot of attacks.

We do hope that they do Yamato kai (see Yamato 2022 OVAs.) The amount of anti-air guns, secondary gun compliments, Torpedo slots, upgraded main guns and oh, did I also forgot to mention the Transit Wave Motion Gun along with its upgraded fighter/bomber squadrons. Good thing the studio manage to finish the series before finally closing.

imagine the 2 Largest Yamatos are in here Great Yamato(546m) and Great Galaxy Yamato II(999m) both are the largest SBYs in the anime world...

I don't think any battleship in SRW is ever going to top this damn thing.

Macross Classes, especially the Quarter, if it ever comes back. It’s tough competition though, the Yamato’s presentation here, with a lack of a better term, has A LOT more hype than any depiction of any Macross clsss, and this is coming from a Macross fan.

Compassion, Loyalty, Selflessness ,Sacrifice, .these people were autobots in every proper sense of the word . yamato is an amazing tribute to the indomitability of the human spirit in the face of a a hostile & unforgiving universe, stated with bravery & determination & heroic fighting spirit,. one that held together as much by the collective will of what remains of her surviving crew as by the rivets & welds of her tired hull, pure audacity given form her crew getting by on sheer grit , tenacity and fighting spirit making the impossible possible through sheer force of will and unrelenting heroism the yamato is more then bolts and bulkheads, she is a living thing , strengthened by everyone who served and died while serving her in battle . she is not just another ship , shes the mirror of our eternal soul

Is the musical theme in this video in the game? I remember hearing another music and the Yamato theme not being in the sound test menu. Does It come out in the later stages?

technically Yamato is the oldest Scifi genre Anime among scifi genre animes...she's the first scifi genre anime to be published and the rest comes along thats one reason why shes known as the "Mothership" of scifi genre animes...also Yamato is a 70s since the old Space Battleship Yamato anime cartoon was releash during that year

Yamato is also the main reason why anime in general made the just from Japan to the USA (and Europe). They ware actively craving for more Sci-Fi after Star Wars in the USA so they imported Yamato and Gundam to fill the demand.

Yeah, Arcadia is pretty strong in SRW T, but my God, its still pales in comparison with Yamato in SRW V

It’s a fcking Death Star slapped on a boat

Imagine this and the Arcadia in the same game.

This is why battle cruiser yamato gun takes so long to fire.
