Do you want to paint like a pro 'Super Quick?' Then the first thing you need to know is how to cut in with a brush. In this video I will show you how to professionally cut in a feature wall without making a mess. I'll also share with you a few tricks of the trade to help you along.

    You and I cut in the exact same way. It leaves such a beautiful line and clients always love it so much. Thank you for mentioning “feathering” in the chunky line. People don’t realize how that line sticks out. Great painting buddy! I love being a painter.

    Cutting in is easy on a smooth wall like that, I'd like to see you cut in on really rough textured wall like I've got.

    I really like the way you cut in. You sure have a steady hand sir. Very good video. Why do some professionals painting contractors tape off on there inside corners. Maybe, they want to make sure they get a perfect straight line.

    Cutting in on a straight edge would make it easier.. cut into a ceiling with no coving and then we will talk 😂👊🏽

    If you slightly clean the side of the brush that goes against the ceiling you can cut it in one stroke, is more faster and will leave no excessive paint. Of course you need to practice in order to get good at it.

    This assumes a nice, crisp, straight caulk line... which is a rarity. I'm painting my son's condo, which was apparently caulked by Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder...

    First of a dozen videos that does a great job of explaining techniques vs just showing off a steady hand... Great job! My only advice (to myself mostly), use a good brush! Not some shitty dollar store brand...

    I usually tape and caulk accent walls with clear caulking. But damn your cut in skills are on point 👌🏽

    No way!!... I ALWAYS use frog tape on the vertical corner edge, to guard against imperfections in the wall

    its a lot easier when you have a ledge on the wall to paint against as you pull the brush across.

    I always have brush lines less than an inch away from the cut in. I'm using Wooster Pro soft bristle brush. I feel like I'm getting plenty of paint on the brush. What am I doing wrong?

    Same here. Just using standard trade paint, but once I’ve gone over the main bit with a roller, a lot of the cut-in parts always stand out. Is it just a matter of putting loads of coats on? 🤷🏾‍♂️

    You cut in straighter by hand than i do using masking tape 🤣, i’ve just painted my bedroom & cutting in looks darker than the rolled walls 🙈 any ideas or tips ?

    fences are usually sprayed, but you can brush and roll them but it just takes much more time because you have to cover all the little tight areas and give it a second coat.

    Masking tape is the only way for anyone who needs to look this up. No one here is good enough to cut in that precise, trust me. Save yourself and just mask it off.

    You don’t know what you are talking about. All it takes is a good cut in brush and a little practice and it’s done. Tape is expensive and a big waste of time,

    @@michaelwpaulin4876 If you're a DIYer, there is no such thing as "practice". Usually it's a one off and you don't do it again for another few years. Tape is expensive? TIME is expensive in having to fix the mistakes from cutting in.

    @@larrybudspecially when you add colour against a white. It will take forever to correct it. Absolutely agree, masking is the easiest for someone with no time, i have a toddler and a baby, time feels like gold to me
