Seen Through Glass if you watch from 6:49 onwards, you'll see the belt like strap which has a pole mounted on it. It's like a pole sticking out of his belly button.

Revisiting this vlog episode because I eventually bought a Onewheel XR, and it has been the most fun thing I ever bought. I seriously have a blast on this thing and I am anti-walking now. It's better than anything I have ridden, which includes esk8 boards and EUC's. Just a personal preference. I love this thing. 😀

What those "kind" people fail to realise is that all of us who watch this vlog religiously really care about Casey and what he's doing, hence we're DYING to hear about Beme and we're more than fine if he just vlogs to tell us about it!

I dunno -- I think the Chinese hoverboard looked cooler. You could do 360s with it, and it seemed much more maneuverable -- though you could clearly go faster with the one wheel. I'd still go with the Chinese one.

nrgins I agree too. I also think it's really cool how on the Chinese product, your body is front-facing, and that it doesn't require near the energy from the human body. This simplicity, I think, makes for a much better product.

Amin El Yeah, I agree. Forgot to note that about the front-facing aspect. But I thought the same thing. OTOH, this one's more like a skateboard, so it could be that Casey likes it better because he likes skateboarding. So three things I think make Casey like this one: 1) it's like a skateboard; 2) you can be rougher with it; 3) you go much faster with it. I think all those things fit Casey's preferences/personality, so he might like this one better. But I agree -- the other one seems more elegant, simpler to use. It also responds when you just start to move in a certain direction (as Casey said, you just think about what you want to do and it does it). So, a better product, IMO. But they need to make them a bit more durable, especially with that middle joint. That's where it broke on Casey's, and that seems to be where a lot of people have problems. They need to make that area more durable.

nrgins Yeah, durability seemed to be an issue. That said, considering Casey's muscle mass, he is not a light person, the way he misused/abused that thing leaping down steps on a daily bases made what happened to it inevitable. I can't count the number of times where I thought, "right, he's definitely going to snap it this time!". Another thing in the American product's favour-and to add to your list of why Casey might prefer the American product-is the big fat inflatable tire! This automatically makes for a much smoother ride compared to a solid wheel. For someone like Casey who has to deal with NYC streets, this could make a huge difference.

The hoverboard looks incredible. Really digging these vlogs.

If he hit pause for everyone who wanted to say hi to him he wouldn't be vlogging... It probably does get annoying for Casey having people wait outside his work and house to meet him almost everyday when Casey is busy. It's kinda rude to expect Casey to talk to everyone and just have him stop what he's doing, like Jeff said Casey doesn't owe us anything.

at one point somewhere online there was grassboards outta germany that looked reminiscent of that onewheel but it had a smaller wide wheel in the middle there and a bit of frame extending out the front leading a bike wheel so you could take a foot off and push too. this was long before youtube and stuff and I havent found'em since like 2000 or 01. its was an awesome design for off-roadin.

Porkchop29 Sounds like they need to beef up that joint between the two sections, making it sturdier. Looks like it's a really well-built device; but that section in the middle seems to be its weak point. Maybe in version 2 it'll be more robust.

Sher Thom That's pretty standard for apps that allow you to upload content. It just means they can use your content without having to pay you for it. But it's still yours.

I'm asking because I know someone who discovered that a Facebook advertisement was using a thumbnail from one of her KZread videos that she posted on her Facebook page. She was pictured in her thumbnail. The company using the photo had no relationship with her nor with what she did. They were just using the thumbnail to advertise their product without any permission or compensation.

Sher Thom Yeah, that's basically what you're agreeing to when you agree to the terms of service. They can do that. On the positive side, you still hold the copyright of your work, so other users still can't use it without compensation. But the company itself can, because they have the license you agreed to.
