Super Playful Leopard Mother and Cub at Den- Virtual Safari # 222

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Join us on a magical winter morning game drive where we embarked on an adventure to find the Plaque Rock Female. The previous day, Kirst had tracked her back to her den, revealing an adorable 6-week-old cub. Bundled up against the cold, we were thrilled to witness the mother and cub engaging in playful antics, with the Plaque Rock Female bounding joyfully through the long grass and playfully tackling her cub.
Just when we thought the day couldn't get any better, a herd of elephants moved through, feeding as they went. Initially unfazed by their presence, the Plaque Rock Female eventually moved to higher ground for a better vantage point, prompting her cub to disappear into the thicker vegetation.
It was an unforgettable experience filled with joy and awe. Watch as we capture these incredible moments and feel the magic of the wild. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more wildlife adventures!

Hi LGR. That was such a lovely and sweet video clip of the Plaque Rock female and her newest brood. I know she's been very unlucky with her 4 previous litters in the past, but it's not her fault that she's lost a total of at least 10 cubs in 4 litters, she's just been unlucky. Maybe and hopefully, on her fifth attempt as a mother, she will at last be successful in getting it to independence. That will be something for her to try and achieve, although luck hasn't been on her side when it's come to raising cubs in the past sadly. I was trying g to get a good look at the cub's rear end as and when it was having a very good time of roughly and tumble with it's mother, but it wasn't easy and very clear. I hope you'll be able to have a look and tell me what that sweet and healthy cub is there. Perhaps a single cub is and will be easier for the Plaque Rock female to raise ever so very successfully. Even if she thinks it'll be safe on the ground if she chooses a very well hidden place to stash it while she's away hunting, yes it might be, but as she probably knows all to well, danger of any type could come right past the place where her cub is hiding. So if she just leaves it in a tree while she's away for a couple of hours or the day, then the tree will possibly be a lot safer and may well increase the cub's chances of survival. Wouldn't it? I don't know what you think of that, but there is a good strong possibility. As is the case with all new mother big cats, let's wish her the very best of hopeful luck with raising her newest cub to independence successfully. That is something that's yet to be on her side for once. Hasn't it? I'm impressed with how good a mother she's been to all of her previous cubs, but it is clear she's lost them all to other predators, sadly. I, like you, would like to think that she'll be successful and more lucky this time round. Another thing that will help the cub's chances of survival is if the mother moves to a new rocky densite and checks the area ever so very carefully to make absolutely sure there's no danger lurking round the area. A litter of one cub isn't unusual and unheard of at all. But I'm sure it'll be a lot easier for her to raise without any trouble. At about 6 years old, she should have raised at least one or two cubs there by now, but as it is, it's obvious she's not had luck. She's got quite a good track record for being a good mum, but a not so lucky track record when it comes to cub raising. I think it'll be down to most of the previous cubs being killed by lions, other leopards, wild dogs, and hyenas as was the very sad case with the 9yr old Ximungwe female about a month ago when she lost both of her two - 4 month old cubs in a very short space of time. So let's hope the best for her. Although I don't know, but have you heard anymore news on the Tsalala lioness's first ever litter of cubs over on Singita yet at all? If so, then good. But if not, then I hope it won't be too long now before she reveals them eventually. I'm keen, like you are, to see, know, and find out how many cubs she's got in total altogether. I also think she'll be a very good and protectively successful first-time mother to them. Even if we don't know, she could have at least 2 or 3 cubs to feed and look after. And as you know all too well, I can't wait to see the very first photos of them with her at their densite. It'll be a absolute miracle if she successfully raises them all to adulthood. But they've got a long way to go ahead of them yet, as they are about 4 weeks old in age. I think the only thing the Singita rangers can do is find and follow her to see if she'll lead them to her densite quietly. If the cubs are approximately 4 weeks old now, then I'd think it'll be at least another 2 weeks before she shows them of at long last finally. Wouldn't it? It is just so very exciting indeed. I think it's fair to say she'll be a mum in a million to them, as she grooms and suckles the tiny cubs as well as moving them to a new densite every few days whenever danger threatens or whenever it's absolutely necessary. Let's keep our fingers crossed for her and the cubs eventually. Hope to hear from you shortly. Robert 9.6.24

I'm so confused. I just watched a video of Mala Mala a day ago where the Plague Rock Female is courting the Maxims male. Was she only doing that to keep him away from her cub? Is the Maxims Male the father of this cub? Are they sure that it was the Plague Rock Female with the Maxims male? Sheez Idk, I can't ID worth diddly squat lol. Anyone help me out, so that I am not confused about this? Because I thought a female wouldn't mate while she has cub/s?
