This is my best friend. We've been traveling together since we met at HOWAs BYOV in October. She is an amazing, resilient, intelligent and brave woman. I'm so proud to be her friend.

I’m going thru clearing out and giving away things now. I thought it would be quicker. Ha! Jokes on me. I’m dealing with leaky seals and 32 years of boxes of memories with kids. Documents, pictures. It’s a process. She is encouraging. I appreciate that she shared her story. You guys are blessed to have each other. Many blessings to all of you 🙏🏼

So proud of you. I had a stroke and became disabled in 2001 as well. Since that time I've had 3 additional strokes. I live in my van also, now a little over year. HOWA helped me as well, with solar power and 12 v fan back in October. I will be 74 in May and going strong. Hope to meet you on the road.

She seems like such a lovely human being. May she be blessed in all her experiences.

Im 67 and will be retiring from nursing in 3 years. Im going to trick out my honda crv and hit the road. Will do some mini trips before then,. Plan to hit every national park in our beautiful country. Kudos to this strong, brave lady!

I just left Quartzsite. There for a month. Great vibes and people out there boondocking. Never did I feel it was unsafe. I have a larger RV but always look at the smaller ones and yes I see there is way more freedom the smaller you go for sure. ❤ ✌️

You do not need 100k 200k vehicles to do camping. Just get out there with what you have. You dont have to do this full-time. Do what works for you.

Nice and streamlined. I like yourdog sign. At what store did you get it? A grandparent of mine had a stroke and was paralyzed on all of their left side. They walked with cane. You get out and go, girl! Bob I wish you would cover your guests' smoke/CO detectors and fire extinguishers, and tire changing tools even though not exciting topics. I would bet that most drivers do not know if they have a Complete set of tire changing tools. I have bought used vehicles that were missing part of those tools. So that is one of the first things I now check, in addition to making sure that I carry a Full sized spare tire (not donut tire) and that has decent air pressure. Even if a driver may not be able to physically change a tire, at least they have the tools so that someone else could help them (and their pet passenger). This is especially true if a spare tire is up underneath a vehicle.

Eyyy! I'm also in a Transit Connect! Great to see a fellow camper in a similar rig. My build is a bit heavier as I'm running about 21 to 26MPG, but it's everything I needed! Only downside is the clearance sucks and a lift kit would destroy the MPG/aerodynamics/cause so many other issues. I think it's a great vehicle to start in.

Jenny is quite a gal. She is brave and talented also. What a cozy living space she has. Bless her.

Thank you for sharing. I really needed to hear "It's not as scary as it seems." I have the exact same van and plan to start by camping close to where I live this spring. I live in West Virginia. I hope to be able to drive to a few places out of state. Who knows, maybe I will make it to the desert.
