We have 6 and 8 year old boys…plus my husband 😂🤣😉 and pillows…the struggle is real my friend!!! 💗 I’ve converted to pillow covers instead that I can change throughout seasons and it’s saved my sanity. 🎉 I still have the “no white pillows for forts or the floor” policy though.😉💗

Regarding pillows: I purchased each of my kids their own pillow for use on the couch/in the living room. It’s the same idea as them each having their own throw blanket for lounging.
The O Cedar mop you showed is the best mop I've ever used...and I've used a lot of them over the years (75 years old and married 56 years). You never have to wring it out by hand, gets in the corners and under cabinets, the mop head pops off and goes in the washer and bucket is easy to carry around. Two thumbs up! 👍👍🙂

I love the concept that keeping an item will not put money back into our pockets. I also remember you saying once that we made purchases with the knowledge that we had at the time, so that has helped me out a LOT. I realize now that I didn't buy the item with the intention of wasting money.

The Simple Human liquid containers are great. I have owned them for 10 yrs. You do need to let it cure for 24 hrs. I made the mistake of rushing and I woke up to a hot mess of spilled shampoo and a broken container. It is strong as sometimes I just leave the original bottle to refill and let it sit. The silicon glue wont leave markings and easy to replace (just buy more silicon glue from Home Depot) if you need to reposition. Use razor to remove. There are cheaper brands that work well too from Home Depot but they don’t look as great. This type of container can leak if you put something too watery or clogged if something too thick. However, I put lotion and shaving cream and they work great. They do turn green overtime, which I am not sure why but doesnt deter function. They dont rust though. Highly recommend Simple Human brand or other ones.
The other thing to do with multiple cleaning supplies (depending on what kind I guess) is to keep one in each bathroom and kitchen or wherever it's used. I learned from Flylady to keep the supplies to quick clean each bathroom there in the bathroom so I wouldn't have to go hunt them down (that extra step providing an excuse not to clean OR resulted in getting side tracked along the way).
Proud of you Dawn. Thanks for helping others. I was 38 ,wife and mother of two sons and decided to begin college at local Community college, to become a teacher. We juggled everything because my husband travelled often. We never had a clear flat surface, the couch sometimes had clean laundry to fold. House was never company ready. On the weekends we just slaved away in between soccer, basketball, etc. We just stashed in baskets when company was company. We have a huge bunch of relatives and friends. We both mostly exhausted. We lived that way for years. Received my degree and a position and hired a cleaner every two weeks. It helped but we had to clean before she came. We were not organized. NOW I am 73, retired and have decluttered and we have all kinds of clean space. Never too old to learn. I even fold my clothes like Marie Kondo now.
I just vacuumed my whole house with my ear buds in listening to you clean. It was like being on the phone with a friend. ❤

Totally agree! Love to join in with my favorite KZreadrs!
Maybe you can try buying pillows with zippers so that you can wash them and only buy new pillow forms as you need to replace them. This saves so much money and at the same time you can change seasonally and it takes very little space to put away in storage the extra covers (christmas, fall, spring, etc.) This is what I've done for years now and it works so well for my family!

I do this too. Buy the covers from IKEA (they wash up really well!) and the inserts off Amazon. A tip I read… size up the insert by 2” to get that full pillow. Ie: pillow cover size 20x20… buy an insert that is 22x22

That boost of serotonin I get when I see you have posted a video and it's my kids nap time.😜 I love your cleaning videos SO MUCH! So simple and real!
Thanks so much for your candor and honesty. You make yourself vulnerable for us and it's wonderful to listen to you as you meet the challenges of family life. I have a friend who uses the phrase "surrendering to motherhood". I'm kind of a neat person naturally so it was difficult for me, and honestly, I think it's difficult for most people. My family used my pillows for everything from forts to naps. They had to be sort and cozy (read that as not too decorative!) I sort of envied the ladies with the "perfect" front rooms, but then I realized that my home was for living...it's not a magazine. Pillows can be replaced - the memories made are much more important. You won't remember the pillows but you will remember the forts and the fun!! :)
Thanks Dawn for another great video! I've been a professional house cleaner for over 33 years, and the spin mop is all I use! Doesn't get the floors too wet, and gets them clean. It's safe to use on most floors, and baseboards.

Too late now, but install shower dispensers in larger bath size showers on opposite wall of shower nozzle. They stay drier. easier to step forward and dispense rather than turn around and water sprays all over it. Just helpful hint.

I have the Simple Human shampoo/soap dispenser and it is so convenient! We used screws to attach it in our tiled shower on the wall opposite the shower head. So easy to clean the tub/shower without all the bottles sitting around. You can even hang a razor on it and scrubby or washcloth.
I decluttered my kitchen about a year ago and got it so curated and minimal and I've loved it. Now I'm pregnant and so tired that I can't even keep up with the dishes, but even so, with my kitchen as messy as it can get, I look at the mess and I'm not overwhelmed because it's only one good afternoon away from be completely spotless again. Thank you for your help 😊

Terri, bless you for raising your grandchildren! My family does this also - my Mom raised/adopted my brother's two children, and I pitched in a LOT, having them on weekends and vacations, etc., to give her a break, plus "babysitting" so she could still bowl and do other things she normally did. Two of my cousins adopted three children who were in the family, it's what we do. Again, bless you.

@@laurancurtis5669 thank you so much. I don't really get any help...maybe occasionally they go stay the night at friends but that's about it. I'm a widowed 66 yr old with a disabled back so it does get hard but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Also I would like to bless your family for giving your lived ones a stable and secure environment to live a Happy and living life. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I clean houses for a living, and I use sal suds on everything. Multi surface, glass, floors. The only thing I don't use it on is stainless steel.
Dawn, Great video. Corbin & Gage are getting so big & they're absolutely adorable. I'm glad you teach your kids to help out. You're a great Mom for doing that so that all their messes don't fall to you to clean up. I think it's great to help them occasionally but it teaches them responsibility. Great job, Dawn & Tom. Thank you for sharing a bit of your day encouraging us. Y'all have a great wkend. 😊
Here’s a thought about the pillows 😂 Buy pillow inserts with down feather, they are easy to put back nice, compared to the fake stuff where it deforms and looks weird. Buy pillow covers ( better yet, if you sew, then but in zippers) and then it doesn’t take up any extra room to store the “out of season ones” I do not have any extra pillow covers because I like using mine all through the year , the key is to buy ones that can go through any season. My kids use my pillows and I just wash them. I have four kids, and I have nice pillows, they build pillow forts and all the things. I do have a rule to not step on them, my house is more minimal so it’s not an impossible task to keep it tidy or clean, and washing them isn’t a difficult task. I follow a schedule similar to Dawn’s, I do a load a day, and I rotate through sheets, towels, and pillows, blankets. Hope that helps, anyone wanting pillows but not wanting to keep pillows in a closet for guests! or just ignore this and do what you want! 🎉
Amen! Five minutes can be the difference between feeling accomplished or feeling blah.
What stuck out to me with this video, not feeling bad to ask the kids to help clean because it’s so easy. Definitely motivating for me. I want and need my kids to help. But it’s often overwhelming for them. One more reason to simply our home. Thanks!
Hi Dawn! You and I have soooo much in common. I am not the decluttering/organizing type of person (or was). We remodeled our home about 4 months ago and I dredded putting everything back together. I've watched hundreds of videos, but all were so overwhelming even as simple as they seemed. I don't know how I stumbled into your channel, but let me tell you!!! I've always been a hoarder, and after watching you it's becoming so easy to get rid of unnecessary items. I started decluttering my office Sunday and now I'm decluttering everything lol! I'm a preacher and a woman's conference speaker. So your faith-based content just brings the type of peace that surpasses human understanding. Thank you!!!! (Ps. My 1st name is Aurora which in English is Dawn. How cool is that?!)
You have TOTALLY CHANGED MY LIFE! My house is filled with my in-laws stuff. None of it is gonna bring ‘em back! My husband is a hoarder. He doesn’t clean, organize or do anything for that matter. It’s a flop house to him. Going to rid stuff I lovingly refer to as the SOME DAY PILES! I’m motivated absolutely daily! Kids are older, no grandchildren.. I don’t need 20 crock pots for family dinners! GONNA minimize my TIME WILL TELL BINS! THANK YOU, THANK YOU! God Bless you! I love the love you have for your husband AND HE FOR YOU♥️your just simply great👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Your channel has definitely made a difference in my home. Been declutter over the last two years as I aim to be more 'minimalist' living. Air quotes as it's different for everyone. Now I say, "If I was moving across the country, would I pay for this in transport cost?" Most of the time it's nope let someone else enjoy it! I'm enjoying less stuff! Thanks Dawn for all that you share, you are helping people on their minimalist journeys!❤
Charging for your time for doing another's chore, brilliant! Also, I do the same cleaning method of getting one area completed, i.e. the island, because you immediately see progress as you move everything to one area, such as next to the sink.
A major decluttering really does help keep the house clean. When I need motivation I put in my ear buds and listen to a good book. Not a new book but an old friend type of book and it always helps me get the chores done. I also try to get all of my chores done in the morning so that I have time to play in my scraproom in the afternoon. It is the little things. 🙂
5 minutes matters....I love that.
My secret to the pillow situation is to get feathered pillows. I always see them at goodwill for $2 dollars a piece. They work great for squishing and hard abuse lol (I have five kids). For holidays and other occasions you just swap out the covers and you always have a fluffy perfect looking pillow without spending more each time you want something new. The covers are also great to wash if they do get dirty and they are cheap enough to swap out often. I have the same set of pillows for fall, Christmas, spring, summer and even a few extra colors I rotate throughout the year lol all with the same few pillows just different covers. Anyway thanks so much for what you do. You have seriously changed my world and I’ll be forever grateful! Blessings!
We found with our (similar) shower caddy that we use LESS soap because we told the boys : 2 pumps max to get the job done ~ and it works wonderfully. I think you’ll love the streamlined feeling!!

I'd like to get a dispenser but as we rent I just switch out bottle tops for pump tops (from other used up hand soaps etc) for similar ease. A lot of bottles have the same size necks/lids 😊
As a parent of older teens, I would Never never never say no to a person asking to help clean 😉It actually might be really good and fun sensory input and it might buy me a few minutes to do something else. Love your videos and it is super motivating. Thanks for opening up your home and ideas for living “essentially”.
For pillows, try feather inserts with removable pillow covers! The feather pillows refluff up so nicely compared to poly stuffing, and you can take the covers off and wash them!

Dawn, you save those pillows and keep them pretty for company. You are entitled to have special things that don’t get ketchup and other foods smashed into them (speaking from experience) lol. I love pillows and how they can transform, as well. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for another AH HA moment! “The dining room table is like doing the dishes - just clear off the table.” That one thought makes it so much easier to tackle instead of just feeling bad about it (and probably doing nothing).
I have fun cleaning. I keep in my mind that in a poverty stricken area where we live, having a house to care for is a blessing. Regarding the cleaning, I use a multisurface that reduces the amount of cleaning products I have - keep in mind I had a cleaning storage unit in my house and that is a lot to inventory and keep.
I had the same problems with pillows for years! They would get flat and pathetic looking so quickly. Finally got a recommendation to get feather pillows (ikea has cheap ones). You can quickly fluff them up so they never get flat and pathetic. I change out the covers for fun but 2 years in and the pillows are still holding up and look as good as new!
"Your family must be more sophisticated than mine"
I have to say I love how Corbin to the rescue whenever I see him I think he's there rescuing his mom he's helping her he's such an amazing helper to you! I can tell you the ones that were my helpers and loved to clean and do things when they got older they're still like that. Your children have a great head start because of you your teaching you're encouragement! You're educating them! I love the pink stuff the cream one I tried that my mom loved it as well I bought it for her. I use some other more natural cleaners. I love my mop I have the same one as you do and it works really well. I love that you don't have to squeeze the mop head I have tried some other brands of washable mop heads and I like the easiness of the O cedar. The mop heads last a long time. I am actually going on a women's retreat I was gifted. I remember the first time I went on a church women's Retreat many years ago how I cried I had never been away from my children except to have a baby. I have been away from my children many times but not a retreat. So for a couple days I will be able to fellowship with other women which is amazing. I don't know anybody at this retreat but maybe one person so I'm really stretching myself. But it looks like it's a beautiful weekend and we have to enjoy the good days while we have them here in Minnesota. Yesterday I got some supplies to be able to get some projects done in my home eventually so that's a good thing. My goal is to work hard at those projects so I am not rushed when it comes Thanksgiving. Even though I don't know where Thanksgiving is going to be this year it doesn't mean that my home can't be in order better. Today I took some moments and cleaned and I'm doing laundry. I want to be caught up in those things so when I come back from The Retreat I feel like I have a fresh start to the week. Also next week I am going to some medical appointments that I've been pushing off

I'm not all that impressed with "The Pink Stuff", I tried it on my stove and my kitchen sink and it didn't work any better than my baking soda and water paste.
I’ve been following you for several months and have made So. Much. Progress. in our house. We have four young kids and today I finally am to the place where I hung a light fixture and finished three projects that have all been sitting in the closet for about a year and a half (or more…) because I finally am not overwhelmed by my house!!!
Thank you Dawn for all the great videos! I have watched you since the beginning and implemented most of your minimal mom tactics. For years I avoided decluttering but you’ve motivated 75% of our stuff. Today, I got rid of 4 boxes of stuff and our old mattress😅. My husband bought us the Helix Luxe mattress you recommended and we ❤ it!!!
I love the O'Cedar mop/bucket. I bought it 3 1/2 years ago when we moved. I'm in my 60s with many years of mopping and trying mops, hands and knees, etc. This is a game changer. The only thing I don't like is that corners are hard to get if you have 'left mopping' for a time. That happens no matter the mop head shape.
The Dawn power wash is fabulous to clean basically all the things that require a bit extra but especially in the kitchen. I just realized that the Dawn products are surely your favorites 😁
I totally get the pillow thing! We don’t even have kids at our house, but my husband is a professional “couch sloucher” and crushes/misshapes any pillow I bring home 😂
For families with lots of hair (human or otherwise) or lots of tracked in dirt (which dirties the water quickly) I’d 💯 % suggest the X3 mop! It’s about half the size of the OCedar, has three separate chambers for water, a comes with multiple microfiber mop heads. Really well made, it has lasted us for years! It’s like swifter with out all the chemicals!
My family is like yours Dawn, if they use the pillows I remember why we can't have nice things. 🤣 Lorraine
I decluttered cleaning products years ago and only use water to wipe things. For grease a little dish soap. If I'm feeling extra peppy I'll use water with essential oils in it. For the floors I vacuum then steam mop with the Bissell power fresh, which is not bulky or hard to maneuver at all. If I need to kill germs on a flat surface I have a spray bottle each of alcohol and peroxide. I save lots of money and avoid toxic chemicals this way. It's a win-win 🙌🏻🙌🏻
My family (all adults) all prefer different shower products so we do have quite a few bottles around. I’m never a fan of decanting stuff due to wasting stuff that gets left in the old container/ spilt down the side/ doesn’t fit. Same in the kitchen. It doesn’t make for a pretty pantry but I just keep pasta, flour etc in it’s original bag and reseal the top with a clip. I’ve got the expiration date , cooking time and usually a recipe suggestion right there on the pack. No need to guess what it is and how long it’s been there.
My dining room table is the center of everything in my home. I have to move clutter off of it every day. That’s okay. When it bothers me I put everything away. Fall is here in Kansas. The flowers are done. The tree outside my window was absolutely gorgeous last week and now most of the leaves have fallen off. This is when I get blue. So I cure that by decluttering. It makes me feel better and I am happy when the stuff is out of my home. Thank you for a great video.
I love how when I press “play” on your videos I look up 28 minutes later to a sparkling clean room. 😁 thanks for the motivation!
I’m so interested in the update from the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser in the future! I love the idea of simplifying and making the bathroom feel like a hotel.
I so enjoy your videos. I feel like you are my friend here and we just hung out with a great chat! You make me laugh! I so resonate with your talks about kids and messy floors and pillows! 😂 You are a sunshine on the internet! I absolutely love your faith based approach to life and decluttering. That view is so full of truth and direction. It really aligns with my heart. Thank you for verbalizing what you discovered between our faith and our homes and day to day with this stuff we own. It’s so important! I am seeing that it is such a distraction to us all when we have so much. it takes away from what we are designed to be doing here on earth. I so resonate with that and that really makes the decisions more clear in my mind when I’m trying to figure out if I should Declutter this or that. So thank you! I listen to your videos nearly every day and they are so comforting and fun to watch too. I have pointed several of my friends and family to them. My kids refer to your videos as mom videos. They see it so sweetly. They’ll say mom go get a coffee and watch a mom video. They’ll laugh and grab me my phone. And they love listening too.❤ My oldest has even said I want to do that too whenever you guys are setting your kids up for success with a chore or some kind of routine.❤
I love that you blurred the video when you were cleaning the toilet. You are the cutest human! I agree about the pillows, I have 3 boys at my house and after about a week, I don't even feel comfortable personally snuggling into the pillows without washing them after my boys have had their way with them. For so many pillows - washing them changes their shape which is so sad! I feel ya!
(While cleaning the stove) you talked about motivation. Have you read The Motivation Myth by Jeff Haden? He says motivation is not the spark of get up and go; it's the result of success. It lines up with your 5 minutes matter idea; accomplishing something in 5 minutes will I've you motivation to keep going. 😀
Dawn, I know you love dishes;) I’m with you… hate them. What dawned on me this morning… lol… is that I use the sinks as the “container” theory, I always have, there’s never more dishes than sink space. Thought you might enjoy that thought;) Can’t wait to watch this!🥰
My SIL taught me a little system. We use a bath towel under our dish drainer. At the end of the day, put the dishes away, sweep the floor, then take the wet towel, use it to clean the kitchen floor, and replace it with new one.
I have used and loved my O Cedar mop for a couple of years. I feel like it actually keeps my hands cleaner when I'm mopping when I don't have to touch the wringing apparatus. It's a good system. The Pink Stuff? I haven't used it, but I appreciate that you are so honest in your assessment of the product. Here's my big input for you as an influencer: Thank you to the depth of my soul for not automatically praising the bathroom dispenser thing. It's great to show us how it's put up and then coming back in a month or so after it's been used a bunch before sharing how it's changed your life forever. I have actually quit watching influencers who install and praise on the same video. $80 isn't chump change and your honest y can help save others. So TY, TY, TY. Love you, too! You are an inspiration.
I bought a small garbage can for the bathroom that hangs on the wall! I was tired of having to pick it up to clean. LOVE IT ❤️

What a fabulous idea!
You motivated me today! I was just sitting watching you and then said to myself "get off your office chair and go clean!" So I changed my sheets, cleaned the jetted tub with NO YUK product. Highly recommend that by the way! I have an O-Cedar mop too and love it.
I clean houses and never heard about the extra clean water bucket... THANK YOU! That mop is my favorite.
My parents are in their 80's and are still very much independent. My mom saw the O'Cedar mop advertised and wanted it, so I got them one. They love it. I also bought them a long handled dust pan which makes it easier. ** Yes, I do help them with deep cleaning but cannot be there for everyday tidying up.
Im not normally influenced by people for vacuums BUT I had a mom friend that said I needed a shark vacmop. I seriously waited almost a year from that but I finally jumped on the bandwagon. The main reason I went for it was because you can vacuum and spot mop as needed and all the bits go into the pad. So then there’s no filter to clean!!!! You just through it away when it gets gross. It has replaced my broom for the in between cleans! It’s rechargeable too! I love when a product replaces multiple things! It actually was a winner. I’ve seriously got like 6 other people to buy them lol. I need commission 😂😂😂

I actually bought one of these and returned it. I really wanted to like it but it just seemed to be a swiffer with a vacuum attached. I now have a bissell crosswave. It sweeps and mops at the same time. It is like a carpet cleaner but for hard floors..They are expensive but I bought a refurbished one. This is my 2nd one. The first had a cord and it was a pain to move outlets but I now have a rechargeable one. I admit there is some cleanup involved but it is so easy to use. I am tall and most mop handles are short. No more backaches. When I do sweep I use my dyson, I rarely get out the brrom
This was my first time body doubling! I cleaned my kitchen during this video 😁 thanks
Over the years I’ve tried a sponge mop, steam mop, an assortment of microfibre mops, disposable wet pad mop, and a spin mop. My favourite is the spin mop. I feel it cleans the best and is the most efficient. I would like one that has separate clean/dirty water compartments. That would make for an even cleaner floor.
When I got diagnosed with autoimmune diseases, I started changing out products. I have been using Native for quite a while and LOVE their products !! I buy them as gifts for family members too! ❤❤
So nice to see Tom 😊 I have the O Cedar Mop and LOVE IT!! I am done cleaning floors on my hands and knees. Love your videos. I rewatch them often. One for motivation and two for reference tips and resources.
I have the same mop and bucket and it’s changed my attitude to floor cleaning! I love it. Makes life so much easier and it’s fun to use.
Hi Dawn, joining u from UK. Started the journey of minimalist life, after watching your vlogs. It has been great since then. Extreamly easy to manage home & life. A huge Thank you!
Charging the kids for your cleaning services is brilliant! $50/hour I bet that is super effective if the policy is in place and expectations are set. Genius!!
I've been using the rubbermaid reveal mop that has the fillable tank and sprayer and washable pads. It works wonderfully for me because I am in a wheelchair and trying to use anything that I would have to dip onto a bucket would be much too cumbersome. But I have to say that spin mop does look fun fun!
I have used the o cedar mop..one person I know has one that has a o cedar rinse clean which is cool. Your floor water looked pretty good for living in the county and not mopping daily! Love how you and Tom work together! Have a great weekend!
I love, love my O’Cedar spin mop, worth every penny! I even “mop” my hardwood floors with it since I can get the mop head so dry.

That is good to know…. We just bought our first house and I was trying to decide if I should get a steam mop for all the hard wood laminate flooring, I found the box in the basement with some spare planks inside and I read the care instructions and I am so glad I didn’t buy one! It said not to use one and to damp mop without harsh cleaners! I was surprised to find out Water is the enemy of this floor! I think I will be buying an O cedar now!😊 thanks for the comment!
“What could I be doing today instead of shuffling stuff around or organizing?” 🤯🤯🤯 That hit me so hard, I had to take a minute to write it down! Thank you for that simple, yet amazingly powerful reminder 😃Instead of throwing it out “someday”, do it today and eventually you’ll see the progress and have more time for the fun in life! Thanks Dawn! ❤

How do you dry your mop head? Do you put it in the dryer??
@crystalgregory5701
Жыл бұрын
@@cmyoutube4 I wash the head in the washing machine and then I hang it to dry on a hook on my shower curtain rod. If it's a nice day out, I will hang it outside to dry. Make sure you don't use any fabric softener when you wash it. 🙂
I got the pink stuff at a local bargain store. Yes, it works. I would probably never had tryed it, because to me it is expensive. The extra degreser in the laundry room is perfect there, so if you need to spot clean something before putting it in the washer. I work great for cleaning shoes too.
The mop head comes off!!!! Step on the mop yarn on two sides and pull up on one side of the red holder and it should separate. You can wash the mop head in the washer then dry it manually. You can also buy extra mop heads online (Amazon) - be sure to get the white ones to fit your mop (the blue ones are smaller.). Love this mop and spinner bucket - I wash with one head and rinse with a different one because my floor cleaner leaves a film on my floor. (Yes I will switch to a new cleaner when this one is gone.) 😄
I decluttered big style before my disabilities became really bad and I'm so glad I did, cleaning is so much easier and if it's not done it's still acceptable for visitors xxxxxxxx
I peeled another layer of the onion yesterday. It’s always so ongoing! I got some more clothes out of my closet (even though I do the one in, one out rule) so I could make room for a few jackets that I had in hall closet. Then decluttered several jackets as well. It all found it’s way to a friend that could use it so that’s great! My goal was to clean out that hall closet (again) and use it for a “music closet”. My husband and I play in a band and I was so tried of instruments and sound equipment hidden in my closet! So I managed to get almost all of that into the hall closet which gave me more room to breath in my bedroom closet. The bedroom closet may not look a ton different but it feels different bc I don’t have stuff hidden under the hanging clothes. Just knowing that there’s nothing down there is nice. And now the music stuff is easier to access. I still have to build one more shelf in that hall closet today but I felt good about the overall project! Your videos over the past 2-3 years always help motivate me when I get ready to tackle something!

Great job! I have a tiny wardrobe(closet) so the other day I put a corresponding top, jacket and necklace on the same hanger. It takes up about 1/2 the hanging space it used to, so my clothes are easier to get to! It also means I have most of an outfit ready to go; just grab suitable trousers(pants)/skirt to go with it 😊

@@HannahRainbow88 along those lines… a while back I decluttered my jewelry and only kept a certain number of necklaces. I also got rid of my jewelry box and I hung a belt or tie thing in the wall in closet in my side that holds a few necklaces. I can’t put more there than it will comfortable hold without tangling, I can grab one of those when getting dressed bc it’s right by my shirts, and if I have too much stuff hanging then I can’t get to it easily so it helps me to keep that area minimized. I wish my husbands side was as decluttered! Ha. And all my earrings are in a small bin in my bathroom drawer. Works out well and it’s one less thing (jewelry box) to have sitting on surfaces collecting dust!
The pillows remind me about the TedTalk about using your nice items. Her example was a Mexican candle. (you had her on your channel recently.) It was very insightful!!!!
I love my o cedar spin mop. Its probably my favorite mop ever! I'm 60 and have tried alot of mops over the years.
My family also have a knack for killing cushions (throw pillows) so now I buy ones with removable covers / just buy covers, so that I can undo them, re-fluff the filling pad as needed and spot clean them easier 😊 Hope that helps 💗 Another lovely video, thank you x
Thanks for keeping me company as I cleaned out the fridges in my new-to-me home! Also, I love seeing a Hello Fresh meal from start to finish like that. I have a better idea of what I’d be getting into. I know it’s an ad, but it’s actually super helpful. 😆
Hey Dawn! I have a pillow tip for you. I’m sure someone else has said this, but here ya go! I switched completely to feather/down throw pillows awhile back. They hold up so much better to being bunched up, abused, etc. you can just fluff them and they look brand new! Bonus points if they have removable covers to wash. I have a set of two that I’ve had for about 5 years and they still look new. The rest are newer, but seem to be holding up well!

Really enjoyed this video while folding my washing - your cheerful voice always keeps me motivated 😊
I saw something on Facebook the other day about storing eggs in “lime water”. Apparently it blocks the pores in the shell and means they can be stored at room temperature for a really really long time! Someone said they do it so they have eggs all year around because the hens don’t lay many in the winter. (I don’t have chickens myself so I didn’t investigate any further about the “recipe” for the water solution)

yes - it's an old farm technique that's becoming popular again. There are a few you tube videos about (I like the videos by Farmhouse on Boone, and Homesteading Family). The process is called "water glassing" and if I remember right, you can only do it with unwashed eggs (so, not the commercially available eggs purchased from American grocery stores).

I just bought the O cedar mop today!!! Can’t wait to try it 😊 Just mopped my kitchen and I absolutely love this mop! Thanks for the suggestion 👍
I used to clean for families and I always brought my own spin mop! 100 % of my clients saw mine and wanted one, too! I used the one you have or others with a round mop head (the replacements are less expensive). I look for buckets with stainless steel spin sections! I can't imagine going back to sponge heads or string mops again! I pop these in the washing machine and I'm good to go! So glad you showed this approach to mopping and I love your determination to clean with reasonably priced products! Thanks Dawn!
It was fun spending time with you and your family today!
Love how u say "IT'S FINE"
I love the green SIMPLE GREEN on almost Everything! Even LAUNDRY STAINS!!
We have Americanas and Easter Eggers too! It's so enjoyable to look at the different colored eggs on the counter. I absolutely love it. We have 18 layers, but they all molted at the same time this year, so no eggs for weeks!
Hi Dawn You may have told us before but I cannot find a video that mentions it. What type/brand of stick vac do you use? And do you like it? Pros vs Cons? Thankful
I love the O-Cedar mop! I got mine at Costco and it IS FUN to step on the wringer bar!!!😄😄
I have had the Simple Human dispenser on my shower wall for about 7 years, and it has never budged. Absolutely love it!
I used to always use those shower dispensers but didn’t replace after the last one broke. I like not having bottles but then it was also another maintenance task to keep it filled. I also use bar soap so still needed a place for that. If I liked body wash I would probably go back to using and get rid of my caddy that hangs over shower head.
You’re such a joy, Dawn! I will check out those house shoes. I’ve got arthritis now, and should probably wear something around the house for support.
It’s funny you talk about the pillows. I had a kid the other day have 4 of them stacked and was sitting on top of them 😳 lol

I'm going to echo everyone else and say thank you so much for all the amazing content you deliver!! The part about feeling bad about yourself with maintaining the house and being a mom and focusing on work instead spoke to my heart in a way I cant even describe!! That's exactly how I have been feeling and I have been in such a state of I want to just move and get a more functional house. Watching your videos make me feel grateful for what I have and a reminder to do things to fall in love with my house/space again. It's been a hard few months but today we cleaned out the garage and that was a step in the right direction. Again just thank you so much for being relatable and explaining things in a kind and easy manner. Your words inspire me to live a better life!!❤❤
Hi Dawn, I love your videos! I just installed the simple human dispenser on my shower last week, love it! If it falls off get some locktite construction adhesive to restick it to the wall. Also it looks like you have a nice quality dishwasher with a stainless steel drum, if you have a good dishwasher there is no need to pre-wash your dishes in the sink, just scrape off any solid food and then pop it in the dishwasher, such a time saver!
Hi Dawn. I love watching your videos, they are very inspiring. I was wondering if you knew that you can take those round burners off when washing the stove. Makes it much easier to clean. Then they just have a small duvet that shows how they go back in.
