Super Metroid Impossible Deathless

This has to be one of my favorite runs I've completed.
Super Metroid Impossible is a Romhack that was created in 2006 by Saturn. This hack is based around the vanilla game with a number of different difficult aspects that make this hack incredibly hard to complete in a single segment even by experienced players. Hope you enjoy!
Some notable time stamps are
Close call on botwoon fight 43:31
Hell run to speedbooster 1:08:35
Hell run into Lower Norfair 1:23:20
Golden Torizo Escape to Etank 1:26:40
Hell run and extremely close call on Ridley fight 1:29:00

Holy crap, this brings back some memories. I played this when it was new, and looking back at the forum post, was the 11th person to complete it. I abused the crap out of save states, and had to use slowdown for Draygon and probably parts past it, but even then it was hard for me. Seeing a deathless run like this is pretty incredible. Congrats on that time, man. Amazing run.

1:32:42 - If you go frame-by-frame, you can see Oats gets all the way down to 02 health before getting any more. Had Ridley died one frame later, Oats would've been dead.

I just beat this romhack recently after basically quitting years ago because I couldn't get the diagonal bomb jumping down and I got lost also. So happy to finally do it, even though I had to use savestates often for bosses like Draygon and Ridley. Props to you man for this run!

To resume the precision required for this run, just see the energy bar at 1:32:38 after Ridley, and put it on 0.25x. Oats reaches 2 energy, literally 2 energy, at 1:32:44. Bro, this must be the sickest speedrun I've ever watched, and I'm not even a huge metroid fan. You even inspired me to replay the game. Congrats dude, you did an outstanding work here.

I'm working on a metroid project using the boot engine."infinite Norfair" The goal is extreme difficulty. There is no point in the game when the player isnt taking heat damage. Varia suit was removed. Enemy spawns are randomized to prevent memorizing rooms, and the bosses from super metroid (if I can replicate them) will be normal enemies. Making some changes to the xray and grapple too. Thanks to the boot engine anyone can recreate super metroid.

Hopefully one day you'll wake up from the ignorance you are living in and move away from GDQ. If not, you'll be stuck with an organisatino that does not care about you or speedrunning at all. "How can I support an organisation that is allegedly corrupt and is anti gaming" I support GDQ because it raises millions for charities that have done wonderful things. Do you hate on anything that has allegations against them whether or not they are true or false? What an incredibly silly way to live and decide what to support or not. @@Oatsngoats You can't accept the truth. That GDQ is not as perfect as you think it is. I don't want to sub to someone who can't accept this. You totally ignore the times GDQ have unfairly banned those who blew the whistle. You totally ignore the unprofessionalism of their events. You totally ignore the fact that the events have become all about political correctness and pushing donations. The donations are a good thing, assuming they actually help those in need. Not all charities have a perfect track record. I didn't even think about Apollo Legent till you mentioned him. There's a lot of other people that GDQ have done wrong by also. I just did a quick "banned by GDQ" internet search (on bing) and it came up with many examples of people being unfairly banend from GDQ events. I can't stop you from supporting GDQ. But it's your loss. If I was a speedrunner I'd rather support ESA. They are not perfect but at least they have their heart in the right place and their events are actually about the gaming and not making sure everyone with a voice is already banned liek GDQ unfortunately does. GDQ used to be good in the early days. But that didn't last and they changed for the worse. A shame really. As I used to watch GDQ events and I donated a couple of times to their events. Never again . . . well not till they fix up their act and put on a good show free from political correctness and the want to ban anyone with a voice. Also I see you lowered yourself to calling me a loser or a troll. Did you run out of facts to use in your arguement so you had to resort to petty insults? I didn't attack you at all. I just stated my disappointment at you supporting a sup par event. That's all. Finally here's a quick video that showcases how quick GDQ are to ban people for no legitimate reason. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fmmIqah-n8zKdbA.html It's just one of many videos on the subject.

@@the8thark sigh I've heard this a thousand times. I always ask the same questions. "Have you been to a gdq event?" The answer is always no. "Have you bothered talking to anyone about these bans and why they were issued" the answer is always dodged with faulty videos or arguments that don't address facts from both sides. "Do you realise the attention this event gets and how they have to sometimes make difficult decisions on how to be precieved by the general public?" This one usually gets people at least using some of their brain. I could go on all day. This is a tired argument that I'm honestly sick of addressing by people that choose to see the world in black and white. Only a loser or a troll would let someone's affiliation with an event that raises millions and millions for reputable charities with reputable track records influence their desicion on whether or not to follow or sub to someone. Go watch another streamer that hates gdq as much as you do and you'll hopefully have a better day

@@mdfaber7 I guess there's not much left to say. Oats has run out of facts to prove his position and has resorted to petty insults. I on the other hand only shared even more facts on why supporting GDQ is a bad decision. If he or any of his followers want to actually prove what I shared is wrong, I'll listen. A good debate is always a good thing. But if it's just petty insults from him, then the arguement is already over. I called him out on supporting a subpar speedrunnnig event. An event that has done more harm than good to speedrunning. I also responded to his reply with evidence proving his reply to be partially incorrect. GDQ initially back in the day was a good event. Today however the event at it's core still has good intentions but it's plagued by corruption, political correctness, lowering standards of the entire event and donations that ellegedly don't entirely go to those in need. Mr Oats, will you reply to this with facts to prove me wrong? Or is this conversation over and you are ok to support this sub par event? If so it is your loss. Even if you and your followers refuse to accept this. As an aside, I am aware the many speedrunners toe the politically correct GDQ line just to get a spot at the event. Knowing that getting a spot will more than likely increase your online viewership and in turn more revenue for you. Lowering your standards that low just for popularity and money? I guess if you need the money you have to (and many do) but personally if I was a speedrunner and was in that situation I'd be hating it on the indside. I couldn't speak publically about it though as GDQ bans anyone who exposes the truth about their events.
