@psyko It's weird hearing that, because I (somehow) always knew about the secret path to the star world, from what I remember. I was more accustomed to beating the game by using the Star World than actually beating the game by just taking all the normal exits.

Did you ever unlock Special World every level of Star World has to be completed by finding a key with the exception of one however this level does have a key and if you find it instead of completing the level through the goal posts as normal then it will lead you to the centre star of the Star World and teleport you to the Special World where the level titles are those 80's surfie terms like radical, bodacious, tubular....etc and the levels are pretty difficult I might had. Not Super Mario Bros - The Lost Levels difficult but you get the point. It's hard to find this place.

I might add* sorry. Oh and it's the level on Star World at the bottom right of the star. If you complete this level without finding the key it will just lead you in circles around Star World therefore you must find the key. Like I said every level of Star World HAS to be completed with a key except this particular level and it's meant to throw you off to make you think there is no key but there is, it's just very well hidden cause it leads to Special World.

It took me forever to find it and I stumbled upon it one day, completed the Special World and I thought I'd found everything but now I knew there was offically nothing more to find in Super Mario World. I'd completed it 100%.

4:54 I love this destruction the most, because Mario wasn't expecting it to rocket off the ground and impact that hill in the background.

My top 5 games of the 90s..Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy's Kong Quest (my personal favorite), 007 GoldenEye, and NBA Jam !

I love how Mario throws these living turtles into lava, then stomp on their castles like they're made out of wooden sticks.

Many of the boss battles here showcase some great ways of using Mode 7 where the fact Mode 7 is being used was/is basically invisible to the player (as a technological feat rather than an artistic effect). And I think, outside of really obvious uses where it totally makes sense (like F-Zero and Super Mario Kart for example) this really is the best way to use such a mode. I really appreciate how Nintendo's designers showed some real restraint and class and understanding of their craft when using Mode 7 to great effect in this game. Similarly, I really wish more of the third party games on SNES had been considered as thoroughly when their creators decided to use that mode too.

mario kart might be the most impressive SNES game of all of them. The entire game was completely impossible on the SNES and just with many many tricks and an additional math chip on the cartridge it was possible

I always loved watching the progression of Mario's ways of destroying each castle.

One of my all time favorite games when I was a kid. So much to do and being able to replay levels over and over was so much fun. It wasnt until 2006 or 2007 I learned that you could also replay the castles. That was something I wanted to do but never knew, but instead i would start new files and play over and over again. Mario Bros 3 will still always be my favorite Mario game, especially for NES. This will be among my top favorite games for the SNES.

Loved playing this game back in the day, best and entertaining Mario game of SNES. I’d love to see it released in switch that’d be awesome to play this classic game again.

The descriptions of the Koopalings always make me sad, because as crazed as they are it doesn't feel right that they are killed. Morton being turned to a memory hits me hard :(

I guess the closest thing would be New Super Mario Bros. DS but even that game is kinda old.

Super Mario World is my All-Time Favorite Video Game! It was the first video game that I ever played when I was a little kid. It was also the first video game that I ever beat as well. I have so many great memories playing this game. I absolutely Love everything that is in the game. The challenge is here, the enjoyment of playing this game by yourself, or with friends and family is here. I have so much Love and Respect for this game. I enjoy playing this game even as an adult. It brings back so many great childhood memories. And I mean no offense to the other Great Mario Games that I have played over the years, but Super Mario World will always be My Favorite Video Game, and My Favorite Mario Game.

Super Mario World is one of the best games from the 1990s and 16-bit era!! Ludwig is one of my favorite bosses in the game because he has his own unique attack pattern instead of being a reused version of a previous boss.

Bowser was so easy to beat, disable the koopa toys, spin jump over ball bearings, stand still during fry guy attacks, bean Bowser with koopa toys three times

In the cartoon they simply called her Princess. In the Super Nintendo era, they called her Princess Toadstool, and in 64, they gave her a name [Peach]

@@JLPerryTV technically she was always called Peach in Japan even in the first Super Mario Bros game. Yoshi's Safari was the first Western game to use the name Peach but it didn't stick on. It wasn't until Super Mario 64 when Nintendo decided to combine both names meaning Peach is her first name and Toadstool is her last name.
