Jo going from complaining so much, saying there's absolutely no way for him to win, and then winning and only giving a mild reaction just really goes to show Jacob's point that he will never be happy with the outcome.

You notice how broken is the economy in this game when both Alpha and Jo trying their hardest to throw got 6 stars.

The 2nd Precision Gardening was hilarious because Jacob and Jo were doing their best and Bowser and Daisy were just sitting there, menacingly

I want to see a variant on this with 4 IRL players, 3 of whom know the goal is to lose, 1 doesn't - but if that 1 player ever figures it out, the other 3 players instantly lose. They have to try to lose without the person in the room ever having a clue

I like how Jacob and Jo somehow follow the logic that “the fans will somehow figure out they’re supposed to be on teams, but *won’t* figure out that we’re playing for last place here”

They did figure out they were playing for last and skipped a star, until Jo bought a star and made them both give up on figuring out the gimmick (confirmed by both in the comments lol)

I feel like a great variation of this would be fighting for 2nd or 3rd place. Forcing a varied amount of effort

​@@sushi287It's alright, but all of them are pretty generic Mario characters. All of them are either side game classic characters or generic enemies that have appeared way in way too many recent games. Bowser also is not the menace he's supposed to be in this game series. The only one that's pretty nice to have is Diddy Kong. Older Mario side games always had one or two pretty wacky characters. Mario Kart 8 also suffered from a similar problem, but it got some more interesting characters with the last couple of DLC tracks.

I love how Alpha says that Jaidens being super loud in the background when the microphone didn’t pick her up at all!

I once played a 10 turn game as Bowser with friends. I rolled nine 0's in a row. I just sat on the start and it was fucking hilarious

It would've been cool to see the super mario party underdogs back like Travis for this episode.

Maybe you could use this idea next time for left over items. Each left over item adds the coin value of it in the shop to your final count. If it gives you a star (i.e hidden block, gold pipe etc.) it adds a penalty star instead.

I like that idea, but hidden block definetly does not guaranteed give you a star so I don’t know if penalty star is fair there. Maybe it should be worth the max coin amount a hidden block can give you

The hidden block card penalty should be based on a coin flip. Heads is 15 coins, tails is a star.

Day 23 of asking for Alpharad's Sensationally funny story. 1:51:01 I would say Jo does not get the star. The item was collected on the final turn, and thus he had no opportunity to use it. As he mentioned, in other games, that space would have yeilded no items, because any Mario Party game that is decent will realize: "Hey, the player can't use it, so there's not point in awarding it to them."

Next Mario Party gimmick: 3v1 Raid Boss, but you win by losing.

Tbh considering they seemed lost trying to figure out the rules of this one, that should be sufficient to remove their penalties lmao

A cool variation could be a more advanced ruleset, where penalty stars are a real mechanic of the game you are allowed to go for. So sometimes taking a penalty star to force another player to pick up a star is the right play. I would also say that any item regardless of having a chance to use it should count for penalty stars. Maybe pipes should count double, but this way you can let if fill an item slot so you are more likely able to discard them, or you could use them to also lose some coins.
