The donation train around the 3 hour mark is one of my favorite moments in GDQ history
Honestly might be my fave speedrun - just the energy of the crowd, the casual convo about how to do X moves, the easy banter of the Couch... the MOOOOOOOOONs and claps from everyone. It's just so much fun to watch and enjoy, and all for a great cause :D
I love how supportive the crowd is in every run at GDQ. No matter the game, the runner, none of it matters. People are just having fun.
i started watching this at 5am and just finished. this is probably the most hype run i've ever watched, and it was totally worth every minute of watching
What an incredible thing to watch live. So much fun! These are the sorts of things people love GDQ for.
2:45:11 Bayleef: "Arby's?" Audience: "We have the meats!"
Moon get fanfare clap was amazing. I was already loving MOOOOOON but just like the run, the crowd interaction just kept getting better. Massive respect for Bayleef, both for his amazing choice in username (and pokémon!) and his incredible run skills, and great commentary between him and the always incredible SpikeVegeta, too. 3 hours long run, but 3 hours of interesting stuff going on. This is top tier GDQ for sure
I was there for the $5 train. It was... incredible thing to watch the total just go up, and up, and up, and up. For such a long time. If there ever was a way to prove that every small donation counts, it would be that. They raised 100k in about ten minutes. That's ten thousand dollars a minute. That's two thousand people donating $5 every minute. That's 33 people every second. That's incredible.
This was without a doubt one of the coolest speedruns I have ever seen. Not only did spike and Bayleef make it so easy to follow and enjoy, but the donation train at the 3 hour mark was absolutely insane and truly proved that every single one of those donations means everything to events like this! Incredible. My heart is full ❤️
This run restored my faith in humanity. What a great watch!
Best run I've seen this far across all GDQs. Spike seems like a genuinely empathetic and charming guy. Really enjoyed the comentary from him. Great runner as well.

This was the best three hours I’ve had all week. What great run of a great game for a great cause!
after watching this for like 4 nights and 3 and a half hours, I have decided I am in love with Bayleef and Spike .... and maybe Timpani
I love when the crowd went "Moon" and "Star" whenever Bayleef get them!

This is the most epic GDQ run/segment I've ever seen. I literally teared up at the $5 pledge runs. I doubt there can be a higher aspiration in speedrunning than to be the guy in the chair, or on the couch, when all this happens.

Now this is why Peach really fell for this red-capped plumber. Mario speed-runs through worlds with skillful and powerful stunts, smashing any enemy on his way. Anything he picks up on the way like Moons and coins are just the bare necessity for the ultimate goal of saving his Princess. Bravo!

Watching this during pandemic times, especially the 15 minutes at hour 3 of the run... I so miss in-person GDQs.
This is fcking history right there, wow, awesome job everybody!
first time i watched a run live and this was the most hype run i've ever seen! I've never even watched an odyssey run much longer than 10 minutes, but I stayed through the entire hour and a half I was there. Also, watching twitch chat destroy the donation challenge and watching the money raised pass 2mil was probably the best thing i've ever seen live. LET'S GO TWITCH CHAT LET'S GO
this takes me back to the days when the heart of the event mattered more than the technicalities and need to not offend twitch and i love every second of it.
