he did choke a few times but it was minor time losses so I agree with you

in retrospect, that opening sequence was fucking wild. everyone was just having a grand time then bowser comes out of fucking nowhere, bombs the shit out of the entire kingdom, uses lightning hands to summon a fucking UFO, then said UFO LAZERS THE GROUND, THEN THE AIRSHIPS LAUNCH CHAINS AND DRAGS THE ENTIRE FUCKING CASTLE INTO FUCKING SPACE??? if nintendo ever makes another 3d mario game, it's opening better be as batshit insane as this ones

Fr I was replaying it recently and forgot Bowser had crazy Emperor Palpatine lightning hands lmao

such a nostalgic game for me even though 15 years have gone by i could tell every level from memory this game is hands down the best mario game of all time

I skipped to some of my favorite levels but man I have so much respect for you. keep up the good content

I still have trauma's from that pinguin manatee surf thingy.

By far one of the best speed runs to date. To have this much precision in this long of a run. Takes some real dedication. Props to this man fr

Never forget how the game also says “MISS!” when you lose a life, just like in the Japanese version of Super Mario Sunshine, and all region versions of Mario Party 1, 2 and I believe 3 too. Not sure about the other ones but I know all the N64 ones say “MISS!” when you lose a minigame.

Love the music when the 2nd Grand Star arrives at the Comet Observatory. This is the easiest way to listen to it, still great job on getting sub 2hour50

Amazing run, this was the most important game for my childhood & it's a bummer it's a less popular speedgame. Can't wait to watch your Luigi runs as well! If you get the time, pleeease, the Honeyhive 1 skip as Mario, HOW?? I can't get the height on that jump at 18:25 to reach the tree. Idk if the positioning is just really tight or i'm missing something about the jump. I've done it as Luigi. Ik it's a lot to ask on a 2 yr old vid, but it's the only vid I've seen of someone pulling it off with Mario (without 2p co-op boost) so i'm just fascinated lol

It is pretty tight as Mario so try to replicate the angle closely. Also make sure to hold A while spinning as that gives you more height. Thanks for the kind words, not really running this game these days but always cool to see people interested :)

to save time, they are "counted" on the summary when youu get back. Shooting them makes them go away. He still need like 10000 for the luma missions but cuz its any% he skip them, its just a point to get to the end of the game and get the last bowser

Your Star Bits collected in the mission are counted back in the dome when you retrieve the star from that mission, and since there’s no way to skip this Star Bit counting screen, speedrunners like this one shoot out all the Star Bits they collected at the end of the mission, just before they collect the star.

ive never played or seen the actual game because i was against the joystick change to a remote etc, but dang what a good game, i thought sunshine was great, just wow

Well, it's simple. Odyssey speedrunners are all automatically and intrinsically better than Galaxy speedrunners. Hope this helps

@@umbresr8933 I'm pretty sure it's due to the fact that there are like 12 kingdoms in oddyssey and you have a certaint amount of moons to collect and some are really easy and you can collect them one right after the other. But stars take much longer to get in this game and you have to re-enter a galaxy to get another and the cutscenes are a huge part aswell.
