This is the closest we’re getting to a official episode 9, and I’m very glad it was done at all, especially with the same charm as the original series

Even for a fan-made episode 9 done more than a decade after the last official one, I admit this is one of the best examples of attempting to make an episode look accurate enough to look close to an official one while respecting the style and source material of the series. Kudos my guy.

I have to ask, why doesn't this have more views? This feels pretty accurate to how SMBZ would've continued.

Truly, a worthy successor to the original series; you should be very proud of what you've done with the clay that Alvin-Earthworm so generously provided! I particularly like how you ended the Basilisx fight, especially considering his own creator's confessed regret to his inclusion in the first place.

This was genuinely incredible! You did a great job recreating Mark Hayne’s old animation style! The only complaint that I have is that Basilisk’s death is kind of underwhelming. But other than that, you nailed it!

This was fire both animation and narrative you really did think so well about how to continue the history i really enjoyed it and i gotta be honest u just made me want more not only from the series in general more of your excellent narrative and quality animation

This actually feels pretty accurate to how smbz could’ve continued, although if say the character dialogue and animation as whole could use some work. Great job tho!

I know this was fan made but it’s something! Since we didn’t get an actual episode 9 I can actually have some closure and except this as a continuation of the story.

We need more episodes. You dis a great job capturing the original SMBZ even if you can do a little more better. I wish to see Mecha Mario and Mecha Sonic fight each other as well as Mecha Sonic vs Robotnik because I know he is still very pissed for what happened to the Death Egg

This is a blast from the past, and is kinda sad seeing that a lot of productions and content today are created with low effort and low quality, unlike super mario bros. z, power star, nazo unleashed, sonic rpg, etc and even with a lot of productions created with low effort and low quality for content farm there's a lot of things that can stand out like retakes of creepypastas and sprite animations.

Amazing work here, literally the only nitpick i have, and it's incredibly minor is shadow gwtting bodied by mecha sonic with one emerald when he previously held his own against semi super mecha sonic, though thats an incredibly minor nitpick and its probably because he just took off his inhibitor rongs and wore himself out Would love to see you continue the series, or at least conclide the rescue of primcess peach, but i understand if you dont have the time or want to work on your own projects

While I have to agree with others that the animation is not as good as the original series. The humor, writing, and choreography is so on point. This captures most of what the original had. The Bros' relationship is exactly the same and Mecha Sonic strikes that perfect balance of feeling beatable but relentless and terrifying at the same time. Having Basilisk switch to fighting Luigi and seeing the differences in how each brother fights in this situation feels like exactly what might have happened. Even Bowser Jr. was surprisingly intimidating, and it plays to the strengths of the old Koopa Bros. If I could give criticism, Sonic's english is a bit broken, and the swapping between the Shadow and Basilisk fights was a bit too abrupt, but these are nitpicks. If this is a one-off that's fine, but if you want to continue then I fully encourage you to do so. I'd be interested to see what you would have planned at least for finishing the "Doomship Arc" so to speak.

You really cooked with this one, are you gonna continue to make more fanmade episodes? This episode feels like it’s literally what they planned the next episode to be! I think you could pretty much finish the SMBZ series.

I had a plot idea in mind until Peach was freed. But I lost the desire to continue the animation and I had to stop the episode when Bowser Jr. arrived. So, technically, I already have in mind what I could do for a possible episode 10.

Well, I appreciate the algorythm to send this my way in the recommended section. This was not half bad. Not as detailed as Mark's work, for sure, but it was best I've seen so far from the continuation of the original SMBZ series, so that's saying at least something. With that said, I remember when I was waiting for Episode 9 for a whole year, only to be greeted with utter disappointment that was a 3 minute clip just to clear up the "cliffhanger". I always wanted to see Mecha Mario in action and see how this story truly ends. One thing is certain, the original creator behind these series; Mark Haynes... will NEVER finish this series. I hope to see an Episode 10 perhaps from you. It would be nice to close a loop at long last for these series in one way or another. I have a feeling, you will do very much fine, in fact, even improve as you go along. ;)

*SPOILERS* What a wild turn of events! Basilisx defeated, Mario, Luigi, Sonic and Yoshi VS Kammy, Kamek, Bowser Jr. and all the Koopalings, Eggman secretly betrays Bowser, Mecha Mario takes the chaos emerald Eggman had, but most importantly, at 16:35, Mecha Sonic finds THE FINAL EMERALD! At this point, Stuffwell has 5 emeralds, while Mecha Mario and Mecha Sonic each have 1. COULD VICTORY BE ANY EASIER FOR MECHA SONIC!? All he’s gotta do is rob Stuffwell and take down Mecha Mario, and then he’ll have ALL 7 CHAOS EMERALDS!!! If Mechalexis goes on to finish this, it won’t be much longer before we finally see all 5 heroes with the Star Spirits and the Star Rod VS Perfect Metallix!!!

I think Shadow can beat Mecha Sonic considering he had almost an equal battle with Golden Mecha on Yoshi's Island let along Mecha Sonic having none of the Chaos Emeralds. Also do i have dementia or is it that Shadow has a chaos emerald back in Yoshi's Island?
