I know that... but the goal is to get a high score, and so if you do badly, you get a low score. But they design the game so that you have to get at least some points... but he didn't. He did worse than bad, point wise, and that takes a lot of talent.

This is pretty awesome! But I have a question, I have never seen anyone do this before but at 4-2 instead of using the beanstalk you used the pipe to get to the warps. Is it because you walked onto the pipe backwards that activated this to work?

pursuing222 A couple strategic backwards jumps allowed Mario to move right of the screen center. This allowed me to go the the vine's usual destination from that pipe since the new warp location hadn't loaded yet.

They're not actually toads. They're turned into bricks, not floating brick blocks. Also, in the Super Mario Brothers Super Show! they're bricks, not floating brick blocks. What's even better is that there are floating bricks whilst the toads exist normally.

rachetc1 Videos used to be playable at 60 FPS. This is really noticeable on NES games where sprites flicker every other frame. The orange wizzrobes all used to be visible in my old Zelda videos, but not so much anymore. Clones and attacks in Ninja Gaiden 2? Half are invisible. It's very frustrating. :(

Micheal Polant Actually he didn't, Bowser refused to go off the platform and was killed by the lava, not fireballs or jumping on his head. Unless you think that green koopas that fall into pits also counts as kills.

did you ever try to finish 6th place overall in super Mario kart? it's waaay harder than finishing 1st. I've done it twice out of well over 100 attempts. you have to get 4th every round and make sure 5 drivers score more than you overall

actually the only challenge is the miss the coins in world 8 i have a harder challenge get 2400 points 100 points for each flag dont kill any enemies or get any coins or power ups only 100 points on the flag are you up for the 2400 point challenge i had a hard time doing it

I'm waiting for an 8-year-old kid to comment saying, "OMG Mario ripped off the look of Flappy Bird!"

I hate comments like these, because here's the reality: NES games had fake difficulty (i.e. the blocks that reappeared/disappeared in Mega Man), which is what made them hard. Over time, devs learned not to do those things, because they were really annoying. There are also still plenty of hard(er) games out there without the fake difficulty that these old school games have.

Ikr! I've always considered myself as a good Mario player, but this is almost Legendary.

This guy is truly a master of not being a master. Very well done.

Good job on getting bear-minimum score dude! I honestly don't think I have the dedication, patience, precision, skill, etc. to actually pull something that crazy off.
