Super Mario Bros. 3: Spawning the N-Card in unusual locations

Ойындар

In this video, I demonstrate manipulating the position in which the N-Card will appear.
One of the key requirements scarcely mentioned in this video is managing the 80,000 point thresholds. If you spawn a card in world "x", then you will need the pass the next 80,000 point threshold in order for the card to spawn in world "y". This can easily be circumvented by scoring hundreds of thousands of points in world 1.
Despite only being banned in the 100% speedrun category, it doesn't find use in any other categories, primarily because it requires using hammers or clouds which could be better spent, or it's simply not applicable as this trick cannot be done in world 1 or 8.

The Japanese name for Lakitu is Jugemu. The localization team for SMB3 also left the name Kuribo for Kuribo's Shoe.

I didn't even know about the 80,000 points condition... Weird glitches, somehow never heard of them. Also, was the lack of position update intentional, or do the toad exits use a different code path that happens to not update?

There is code in place specifically to prevent Toad Houses and minigames from updating the return position. I'm not entirely sure why the developers decided to do this.

@lior_Haddad: This is because you are only allowed one N-spade card per world, if you keep it in the world, each 80,000 will stack-up the N-spade reward, and be save for later. The trick shown up above will not work in the Super nintendo version, it will still put the N-spade on a unclear level, but in the super nintendo version, clearing an N-spade on an unclear level will not clear the level and will just clear the n-spade. And also in the all-stars super nintendo version their is a soft lock glitch with that, if you put the N-spade card on unclear quick sand level, and/or unclear pyramid level, this will cause both that level, and the n-spade to never clear and be stuck in an infinit loop of playing the N-spade game, since quick sand level, and pyramid level in Super nintendo version can only be clear with normal exit, and not alternative exit, and N-spade is considered alternative exit, so the n-spade will match the property of the level that it is on.

the N-Spade Panel that spawns in the water on World 3, what happens if you took the little boat to it? would it still work?

Nothing special happens if you take the boat to it. You play the matching game as normal, and the boat doesn't disappear either. It's also worth noting that since you spend the hammer to reach the roulette minigame, you no longer have the hammer required to reach the boat.

For some reason Toad Houses set up the color palettes that way. The fireballs are also blue inside the fights at the end of the world 8 tanks / ships.
