It's part of the recent Simpleflips slide hack competition. It's actually a demo currently, as the author plans to continue work on the hack after the competition ends (going to the basement shows a blocked off pipe to the next area)

@@dr_rngIf this is the kind of hacks that are being showcased during that competition then I’ll definitely check it out lol. It’s been a couple months since I watched simpleflips. Also I noticed this hack is console compatible so I’ll be sure to play it myself

I used Bizhawk which has something known as TAStudio that allows you to manually enter inputs and see what inputs have gone through in real time if you use a controller. You can also rewind the game to undo minor mistakes and improve the run.

Bizhawk is a little overkill just use mupen64 or project64 to start out
