Kind of serves you right. Four nozzle firesystems are way under 1000 dollars. Maybe try that next time.

We had a full fire suppression system on the vehicle. The nozzles where placed to control fires around the driver and the fuel system. We did not anticipate a fire being caused by a hole in the engine spraying oil on the exhaust, but are rectifying that for the future.

Professional Awesome Racing curious what ended up letting go to cause such a catastrophic failure? Do you run a dry sump system?

It was a rod bearing. Not sure the specific cause, perhaps overtightened fastener. It was a last second, backup engine. We are switching to dry sump for 2018 for additional security.
