If I remember, the reason for the delay was they couldn’t pick a title track. Now seeing that they picked House Party over all the other songs, I’m speculating they were struggling with it because House Party was not the same vibe as the Renaissance but there was a golden opportunity to come out with a song for the times, a song with a strong message that needed to be shared at that moment. But again, I’m just speculating here. It’s not the first comeback under Label SJ. I think Label SJ was announced right around their 10th anniversary and I think the first studio album under Label SJ was the one with Black Suit as the title track. The la la la in BTF is Wookie because he almost spoiled it in a radio show with Shindong and Leeteuk. When BTF came out, I was so excited because I thought the entire album would be something like that, given that it was called The Renaissance. So while I do love HP, maybe BTF would’ve been the more appropriate title track.

Label SJ was established at the time Devil era so circa 2015. That is when they started to have more creative freedom with their songs. Renaissance was abandoned due to Kwangya, ugh. So upsetting! For Burn The Floor, Yesung dropped his lights on day 1 of SS9, after they let go of the red ribbons, lol 😅 The lalala part is indeed by Wookie...

there was a delay because burn the floor was supposed to be their title track for the 10th album, it obviously fits the renaissance concept but during that time, aespa also debuted and the smcu thing started. sm ent really forced the kwangya (aespa's) concept into every sm group up to the point that the lyrics and the music videos don't make any sense anymore. the timing was so bad. i think by the time label sj have already released renaissance teasers in nov-dec 2020, sm suddenly decided to include suju to the smcu worldview. they probably couldnt think of any way to insert the kwangya concept to burn the floor, that's why they looked for another title track. hence, delaying the comeback for about 5 months. as you can see in the house party mv, there are a lot of symbols/objects too that are related to the smcu concept.

Hurraira you see Ticky, Tocky, Mystery and Paradox performance for SS9, that vibe was we are espected to the remanaisence comeback.... I love House Party, but the concept don't fix well with the albun concept or the concept that we espected....

SS9 mostly newer songs..quite different from.previous Super Shows. And I am so happy when they brought rennaisance concept for opening songs up till to mystery. That just what we expected.

that's so true 😭😭 watching this video gives me flashbacks during house party era .. the entire elf twitter is in chaos and super confused. some are even calling label sj out bc of the poor management with their comeback. i also remember label sj posting a timetable and it really looks ugly im sorry 😭😭😭 everyone was just not really expecting a comeback during that point bc every month label sj kept on posting statements saying the comeback has been delayed again lol even suju lowkey shaded sm/label sj during their smtown concert in 2021. they also had NO idea abt the exact date of their comeback

Do you know when the Renaissance story teaser was released, we were so excited (naturally) , very much entralled by such novelty (we never expected the teaser in story format read by each member), and we also fell over each other to guess which member was reading which part ! 😃

Label SJ was created in 2015, and DEVIL album was the first album under Label SJ.

Old ELFs might actually feel extremely happy as they started to do more of their own stuff under Label SJ... Being with them since 2006, I can't explain how many hard times they have been through just because they needed to follow the company's direction.

Wait you didn't watch SJ News?? If I'm not wrong there's about 3 eps. That's a part of renaissance spoiler before house party come out. they act as if they are news anchor, or reporters and interview themself about the album😂

House Party es un parche en éste álbum, lo podemos ver en el photobook del disco como trataron de integrarlo de alguna forma al concepto, eso sí es una canción genial llena de energía con ese cambio tan épico y que trato el tema de la pandemia que atravesamos y que sigue presente en nuestras vidas. Pero para mí Burn The Floor es una joya de un estilo único que va más allá de cualquier canción en la historia del Kpop y que merecía MUCHO más reconocimiento, sobre todo por el público en general ya que SuJu hizo un grandioso trabajo con sus voces y un performance inigualable, demostrando que el género del Kpop es más de lo que vemos a simple vista.

Sin duda alguna, amo House Party y es una gran canción, pero Burn the floor es simplemente una gran obra cualquier otra canción le queda corta.

I think first official comeback under Label SJ should be Black Suit. Devil was released without SM knowing and with their own money so I guess that was the seeds to Label SJ.

Now that you've done reactions and review of the last album and now the previous one, you could go backwards in time with each album XD it'd be fun! TimeSlip/Timeless has some great gems that didn't get time to shine cus of the pandemic. The pandemic also caused problems for The Renaissance. The original plan was a release in november for the 15th anniversary, but things weren't ready and then cases went up by the end of the year and some members weren't sure of the concept in the first place, it seems. I think they took it as a sign to no go that route because it wasn't working out in the original timeline they had. It's a shame, of course, I feel Burn the Floor deserved the main title track spot and House Party would've made a perfectly weird repackage option. House Party is a great song though. Fans were mad cus it's not what we were hoping for, but the song grows on you and it had the message that we needed at the time :)

After a long break, I am back ... so excited 😊, this is one of their best albums in my opinion, can't wait to go with you through this journey ^^

I heard rumours that they were pressured to put House Party in the album by SM entertainment despite it not fitting the whole concept and this delayed the whole release. Judging from the clips that came out around that Nov 2020/Dec 2020, it's very obvious that Burn the Floor was the title track at the time.

i'm sorry for commenting on a year old upload. i'm watching all your sj reactions and get frustrated when i don't see proper explanations/answers to your questions in the comments. 😂 i'm not sure if you already know these things because it's been so long, but i'm writing a long ass explanation anyway. 😂 this 10th album promo was really a roller coaster ride. we got the storytelling intro and got so excited!! if i remember correctly, they announced the comeback would be on november, around their 15th anniversary. ryeowook guested on d&e show before that and gave us the "la lalala lalala" part as a spoiler for the title track and said that it was a really good song. we don't have any idea about burn the floor that time. then november came, they said comeback is going to be delayed but maybe on december. they gave us "the melody" on their anniversary. and then, during tma, they performed "burn the floor"!! imagine our jaws dropping. some elf noticed the "lalala" part that ryeowook spoiled during d&e show guesting. and wondered why they're replacing this perfect song as the title track. also around christmas/new year, donghae went live and said they finally picked a new title song. ryeowook also said that the new title song is better than burn the floor.... anyway, we got teasers for "house party" and then the comeback.... i personally like house party, but imagine our frustration because, first, it didn't fit the renaissance concept, second, it's a covid song, third, imagine the impact if burn the floor was the title song? i mean, they also performed it together with house party when they promoted on music shows. but, you know what i mean, right? as you said, it was really a missed opportunity.
