Hoping to see if there's a ending ceremony in this game I decided to beat all the game's records and to my surprise nothing happens unfortunately, which proves the game had a smaller budget compared to SEGA's main releases. All cars, which although they don't have names to avoid licensing and process issues with vehicle manufacturers, are based on real models. I believe it is based on the LeMans series in the year 1996.

This game is so rare, that even finding a high resolution photo of the Arcade machine is difficult, although it is emulated in the Model 2 Emulator, this game still has severe bugs that may never be fixed due to the fact that this emulator is very old and being no updates for more than 7 years, it emulates the AAA games well but the less important games still have flaws.

Can you tell us what those bugs are in the old, closed sourced emulator here? It sucks that the MAMEDevs don't bother fixing up their own Model 2 driver yet. Let's hope someone will build a good SM2 fpga core for MARS FPGA, Replay 2 and other future powerful consumer FPGA platforms.

Consider, that on this day 30 December 2023, the Sega Model 2 System is still not properly emulated by MAME. *General Issues:* -Lack of a proper Microtexture emulation: This is a effect that racing games uses on road, to make the game sense of speed faster. This technique is used also by Sega Model 3 and already commented by Digital Foundry on their videos about "Like a Dragon Gaiden" Arcades. -Analog Input issues, too much sensitivity, some can be fixed by calibration on Test Menu, but not all games have a calibration config available. You will have a better experience using an Steering Wheel or PlayStation Controller, because these gadgets have 3rd party software that you can use to fine tune sensitivity, deadzone, centering, etc... -Lack a proper color emulation (not sure if is because of differences from CRT to LCD color reproduction, or really an emulation problem, but it was fixed on Yakuza Games as they have a updated code from Model 2 Emulator as they bought years ago from ElSemi developer) but its close enough to Real Hardware and to be enjoyable for gameplay. -Texture Flickering and Clipping, it occurs on Real Hardware also, but not on this (high) intensity like on Emulator. -Low volume in some games, but you can force amplification with some 3rd Party software like me. *Game issues:* -"Super GT 24H" the is unstable in general, the Long Course and Long Course Reverse, suffers more from framepacing issues, this game also have colision bugs, as sometimes you encounter or hit a invisible wall. This game tends to Freeze or Crash your Computer sometimes, as you need to logoff and logon on Windows profile to save from this bug without restarting your computer. -"Manx TT Superbike" needs to run an specific version of rom, to have a good experience, otherwise you will encouter sound issues, like cut or looping. -"Virtua Fighter 2" Has a slightly graphics issues and a very rare case that can freeze the computer also, you can fix by logoff and logon on Windows profile. -"Sega Touring Car Championship" Sound issues. -"Sega Rally Championship" Lack an AI emulation, as CPU cars behave weirdly on the game. If you want AI accuracy, its better to play a PlayStation 2 port or play on Real Hardware. ------ There is more bugs, maybe a guy with better understanding of Arcade scene and hardware can say more for you. This video is edited so you can see only the good races that emulator has not frozen/crashed or i've not encountered bugs in the Race. I also use some tools to improve image quality, sound and add borders to improve the look on area not used (add artworks to a 4:3 game running in a 16:9 monitor) by the game.

Oh, I'm surprised. I wasn't expecting to see so many details in your reply. Thanks for the tip on using a controller setup with third party software for fine-tuning. It's because MAME and some frontends may not make that easy at all. Yeah, I was aware of that great digital foundry video and web report on a couple old Sega arcades in the recent Yakuza title.

@@ObiKKa Yeah, some racing games on MAME are only playable with Steering Wheel or if you find a way to fine-tune controls with a 3rd Party software. Because the MAME configuration don't works, at least for me using a Xbox Controller

@@ObiKKa Even on Model 2 Emulator, there are some games that are only playable on PlayStation Controller or Steering Wheel, like the "Sega Touring Car Championship". That's why i never recorded a video here, because it's unplayable for me. The Sega Saturn version recquires a powerful PC to upscale the game textures and the PC version runs like trash on modern systems or don't even boot at all. The Sega Model 2 version is the best one, but the controls need a fine tuning that is not availabe for Xbox Controller users.
