Max Hiddren Bagan had no less than about 4 different film opportunities. First was in the 60's and it would have been a much different creature. Next was after Toho made Godzilla vs Biollante, they were going to make Mothra vs Bagan, which was a white creature instead of the red we see here, and also able to make energy wings. The storyboard was mostly finished and showcased Bagan killing Mothra and the larvae from the egg wrapping up Bagan, basically a remake of the 60's Godzilla vs Mothra with Bagan replacing Godzilla. His next appearance was again going to be in the 92 Godzilla vs Mothra, but he was swapped out for Battra. His final appearance was in this game, which starts up incredibly similar to G vs Space Godzilla, with the military attaching a mind control device to Godzilla. Bagan also has a crystal shower attack along with several things in common with Space Godzilla, including an alternate "flying" form and also sharing Godzilla's cells. A suit was made and a movie was being planned out, but it never came to fruition and instead, they wrapped up the series with Space Godzilla and Destroyah. Still, the ps4 game that was released recently? Rumor on the wind is that Bandai Namco said that they would make a sequel if this game sells well enough *and they would include Bagan as one of the playable monsters*.

Max Hiddren Also, considering Bagan's placement and listed powers and abilities, I'd rank him no less that in the echelons of Space Godzilla and Destroyah. Destroyah is supposed to be "the most powerful" creature Godzilla has ever faced, though one could say the same about Space Godzilla as well since it took a *LOT* of military assistance to kill it. The military killed Destroyah vastly quicker when they found out what it was weak to, but I dunno if that would "count". Both Space Godzilla and Destroyah seemed to have little issue beating the shit out of Godzilla, though Godzilla DID manage to blow half of Destroyah's face off, along with injuring his chest, though many argue that it was due to the insane radiation due to Godzilla melting Down. Space Godzilla never was injured from Godzilla until AFTER MOGERA destroyed his shoulder crystals, though the Military guys noted that Space godzilla was dying and would most likely explode, so again, we aren't "sure" if Space Godzilla was destroyed by Godzilla, though Godzilla got the last hit in with his Spiral Fire Ray.

Their designs were bases for Destoroyah and SpaceG, that's true. But they're still separate monsters, sort of like the difference between Zilla and Godzilla. Zilla's design is inspired by the Big G, but he's his own separate entity. The biggest reason we may never see these two in a movie is because Toho doesn't trust in new monsters to sell. They'd rather recycle big names like Ghidorah, Mothra or Mechagodzilla.

Here are reasons why: Think about it. Bagan is HUGE. The largest and most powerful monster Toho ever created to date. Regular Godzilla can't fight him, (Burning Godzilla mode would spell his own demise since he can't control the meltdown) he HAS to power up, get more massive, as Super Godzilla in order to fight on equal terms. The premise is simply too much for most people unfamiliar to the Toho gang and currently outside the active fanbase to accept. It'll alienate them.

What's fascinating about this fight, is that both monsters are towering over the ruins of Presidential Office Building in Taipei, China. We want a proper Godzilla vs Bagan fight for the reboot. Problem is, things that go on in the real world will stump us every time. Bagan's the Chinese equivalent of Gojira. And, China and Japan's relations have gone rather sour after standoffs over the disputed Senkaku islands. Very... sour. I think Toho may have to rewrite this monster's origins somehow...

This game promoted Bagan in order to help pave the way for Godzilla vs. Bagan in 1995, but unfortunately was replaced by Destroyah. I love both monsters, just woulda been cool if Godzilla fought both at the same time. Hopefully Toho will make a whole series after Godzilla's Resurgence this year and use him. Maybe even make a Bagan trilogy using the scrapped drafts. A Bagan Solo movie would be awesome too. What if he got his own franchise. Can you guys even imagine the possibilities that could come forth?!

I could see that coming if Toho is planning a sequel for Shin Gojira. Gojira is basically still evolving in that movie and remember, Bagan is created with Godzilla's cell.

You know, it'd be nice to see Super Godzilla get re-released onto the 3DS. A little something for us when we still had the game on the SNES. I love this music, but Bagan was always a bitch to fight against.

This guy scared the piss out of me when I was a kid. That discordant, strange music and the dark and somewhat demonic character design really frightened me. I always turned off the game at this point. I was somewhat of a weenie as a kid. :/

It depends on how the previous level - Mecha King Ghidorah - went that influences how things will progress against Bagan. If you manage to keep Tokyo's damage level under 50% and beat Mecha King Ghidorah as normal Godzilla, then the team will have saved enough energy to immediately turn Godzilla into Super Godzilla at the start of the last stage against Bagan, prompting the alien leader to comment on Godzilla looking different, but still being no match for Bagan. If Tokyo's destruction level reaches 50% or higher (regardless of whether you become Super Godzilla or not), then the team has to send out a second Super X to collect energy from all over the country in order to get enough to turn Godzilla into Super Godzilla, but until then, you're forced to face Bagan as normal Godzilla, impossible to beat without some sort of cheat device, and so you simply have to survive long enough until eventually that second Super X that you see in the video arrives and gives Godzilla the energy to turn him into Super Godzilla. (Literally, Bagan makes it almost impossible to make any sort of attack while Godzilla's punches will only do, at most, 1 damage to Bagan, and even if you're lucky enough to punch him, then back off to open the attack window and manage to pull off any attacks, most of them will only do 0 to 4 damage while Godzilla's atomic ray is deflected, and Bagan's attacks easily do up to 200 or more damage each on top of his physical tackling being able to take off tens of health, meaning he only needs around three attacks to kill normal Godzilla, so it's highly advisable to save up on those health and/or invincibility items if you're on this course.) If you manage to keep Tokyo's damage level under 50% and beat Mecha King Ghidorah as Super Godzilla (very tough to do, but if you're lucky with Mecha King Ghidorah's positioning on the stage, you can manage to reach it as Tokyo's damage level hits 45%), then the team will have saved enough energy to immediately turn Godzilla into Super Godzilla at the start of the last stage against Bagan, prompting the alien leader to comment about Godzilla becoming Super Godzilla, but still thinking he's no match for Bagan.

It's cool, but making the game a bit like kaiju daikassen would have been epic (example: destroying the buildings while fighting the military to get to the boss)

There's actually a platformer on the NES that has the same "move roulette" gimmick that's in this game.

If Toho gave rights to the Godzilla franchise to legendary pictures then that means Bagan will probably be in it. Maybe not in this one but most likely in another movie. I believe Toho trusts Legendary since Pacific Rim may have given the relief that they made the right choice. I hope I'm right if not, then Toho should work with legendary on the next Toho Godzilla film

Dovahkiin_Gads Bagan may as well be the villain of Godzilla vs King King (2020). Based on Japanese guide and concept books, as well the video game (Bagan’s Energy Form wiped out Tokyo in just seconds); it can give Legendary Pictures the idea to make him so over-powered that the Monsterverse have to introduce Gamera to back-up Godzilla and King Kong against Bagan. Or possibly be the villain in the Shin Godzilla sequel (Shinji Higuchi, the co-director with Hideaki Anno, said he will make a sequel, under Toho Studio’s approval, in 2022) as another great lifeform (in an Evangelion perspective) competing against Shin Godzilla for the title of sole “God Incarnate”.

Toho, if you're reading my comment here's my opinion for you. You should've given Bagan a chance. Even though you added him in the Super Godzilla game a game which I never knew about until six years ago, you never gave him a certain role in any Godzilla or Mothra movie. I personally do not like the Super Godzilla form...I prefer the original Godzilla form. I don't like the design of Super Godzilla that much...but it's still badass. I like Bagan a lot.

Yea they painted the super Godzilla costume

That's really odd Super Godzilla looks like bigger then Godzilla (+ SpaceGodzilla) But at his Specail attacks he look the same size as SpaceGodzilla

Super Godzilla has that crest in the Japanese version =P Only it's a lime green instead of gold.
