Lampard. The reason why I started supporting this club, and have never looked back ever since. A true legend.

my role model as a kid. he's my hero. i have his poster on my wall! 302 goals is just ridiculous for a midfielder. The 102 assists something that barely get's mentioned in the premier league which annoys me. Like people seem to think this guy was just a goal scorer which is ignorant if you ask me. His passing range was phenomenal. the stats don't lie. for all you out there who say he can't tackle i disagree he was box to box so he was clever when to intercept the ball.

3:55 - 4:03 Bobby Tambling is right about that. Generally people only rave about Lampard's movement into the box and scoring goals as a result, but he was so much more. He's a brilliant creator of chances and he has great technical ability, from his range of passing and his underrated close ball control. I remember watching how he'd take on two Villa players to set up Anelka and his outside of the foot pass to Drogba. He was the best midfielder in the world at a time and twice coming close to being best player in the world, second only to Ronaldinho. Super Frank is a real legend.

A holding midfielder that consistently scores 15+ goals a season is just unheard of in this day and age. Nobody has ever been an all round amazing player. From set pieces to how he read the game put him on another level and up there with the top. Gerrard's greatness is quite mythical, what greatness there was was relatively brief. He had 2 great finals, one in FA cup and one in Champions League back in 05-06. All he has done since is cost both Liverpool and England crucial games due to his individual lapses. People argue he didn't have the players at Liverpool, but fact is that is why he stood out. He was better than their mostly average players, with the exception of Alonso. But Lampard was better than any world-class player Roman's roubles could ever buy Goals, Assists, Trophies, Consistency throughout playing career all point to Lampard by a very large distance. He was the ultimate Pro to boot. Gerrard was at a time in his career a big-match player who lacked consistency but those who point to his superiority in big match mettle ignore just how good Lampard was in the big games. Lampard was just as good in finals and crucial league games as he was every other week. Look back at Chelsea's big games over the years and he was their talisman in every single one of them including that '08 CL final they lost. Even at 38 in the MLS, he was far better. He almost single-handedly dragged NYC to the play-offs with 15 goals in his last playing season.

Lampard one of the most disrespected midfielders in prem history. He wasn't just a goalscorer, he had a great range of passing, very good movement, good in the air, decent tackler, had good close control. But people will tell you he was just goals
