Just made one out of big box cedar. It came out just fine. I will build at least two more. Very good design. Thanks. A lot of wood were cut down around me it's what I can do to help the little fellas out.

Great project! I've made dozens myself for my property and as gifts. Squirrels have chewed out the holes on most of them. I stopped them by using a 1 1/2" washer that I bought from Tractor Supply. I drill two holes in the washer (9 and 3 o'clock) and screw them over the hole. I use Hillman Machinery Bushings 1 1/2, 14 gauge Part #882804.

Moatly a pretty good video but a couple problems that could result in perfect bird box. It is never advised to paint or stain bird boxes. Paint and stains can be toxic. The more serious issue is there is not enough ventilation. Eggs and chicks can quickly over heat and succumb to high temperatures. Ventilation is easily fixed by dropping the side pieces down about an inch or by drilling 3-4 1" holes on the sides, even the back. The access hole cannot provide adeqaute ventilation.
