Dev here: Would love if KZreadrs showed the game beyond the intro sequence! There's lots more to the game than just "white turret sits in center of circle", many turrets do different things, and perks can wildly change your approach. Also different game modes like Shmup Mode that looks totally different!

Sock, can you make a series on this or something? U make all your long vids worth watching lol.
Probably my favourite roguelite of this year. The builds can get kinda crazy and the devs has some really interesting ideas for turrets. My only problem is, that you won't see how much variety the game has until you start unlocking some of the more interesting turrets and perks.

On my second run I accidentally (but logically) unlocked a micro missile repeater weapon. I love this game already! Edit: Honorary mention to the shotgun that fires explosive pellets, that can then use the "sticky" mod to convert unexploded pellets into mini sea mines for area denial.
Absolutely love this game, so glad to see you show some love to this game! I hope to see some more videos from this game 🙏, as the meta-progression is short, where it feels meaningful but still very challenging; after it, you spend the meta-points on cosmetics, thus it's barely a factor to focus on. Most of the other turrets are indeed unlocked through achievement means, with every variant feeling fresh, forcing you to play in very unique ways - such as the turret where your bullets as like the Tiny Planet item in Isaac. There is really so much variation and complexity in this quant hidden gem of a game. Much love, Cheers 🍻
I would definitely enjoy watching more of this. The subtle background noise of the game is calming, the amount of fun builds seems to be very expansive, the premise is easy to understand and follow what is going on. I could definitely see myself putting this on every morning.
Would certainly like to see another look at this game.
it's probably actually more efficient to spread your points to other upgrades, since meta progress is dependent on how well you do, and getting more powerful lets you go farther.

Considering I won it kinda proved I made the right choice though. Because I got 2x the meta.

Would love to see more. Seems like a lot of build variety potential
It feels like you’ve barely scratched the surface of the weapons system, I’d love more
This game opens up so much more for builds later, please play more of this
I always find your analysis of the game mechanics, like the meta progression, run length, and how you tailored your weapons, very interesting. If you enjoy pursuing that, I'd find it fun to see how you play with the different weapon varieties and obtain some achievements.
Yeah I'd be down for more of this too
Enjoyed this would like a series, seemed like you liked it as well.
I think there should be a video on the different game modes just to show off the game to its fullest since they are very unique as well as the builds and turrets. Five main modes with 48?!? Levels total probably for difficulty adjustments 1:05 :40 (top right)
Would love to see some more of this! Maybe a mini-series?
Just got the game after watching halfway through. This game looks great!
This kinda remembers me of an stationary version of the classic Bubble Tanks, it was a nice idea 20 years ago, and it still works
I could see myswlf watching a bunch of these in a miniseries with all kinds of wiered builds
This is sooooo COOL! Please make a series of this.
Willing to watch more of this on your channel for sure.
Please just one more if not more? Excellent vid❤
I'd looove to see more episodes of this one, looks like there's a lot of content to sink your teeth into
Wait this game is sick play more. So much content
What a surprising gem of a game I'm so happy that you and wander covered this
partway through and got distracted by combinatorics at around 18:10 Had to go back and relearn how it all works, but, there are 35 ways to group the 4 letters (in groups of 4), 20 for groups of 3, 10 for groups of 2, and 4 for groups of 1. i.e. 35 + 20 + 10 + 4 = 69 Nice.

On the subject of meta currency to increase meta currency gain, I think it really depends. It's hard to say for sure whether you'd get more of it if you increase your damage/survivability, over just base currency gain. Regardless though, it isn't as important if the game is more about clearing an area/stage, especially if you get a bonus for defeating the stage. Then clearing becomes more important than currency up, imo. Once you are able to reliably clear, then you can sink your points into 'farming' upgrades. (I do agree that it's not really an 'interesting' upgrade though)

Dev here: Yep, it literally just works out to be that number 😅 I legit just lie on the Steam page and say there's 70 weapons so people don't think I made it 69 on purpose

Could definitely stand to watch another couple hours of gameplay on this one!
This is an awesome game would love another video!
I'd watch more of this
very cool game. I think "intro research" is just that, introduction to the game so it's easier to grasp what the game has. And the music is kickin"
I want to see more of this
More please!
p53, guardian of the genome.
Just realized the in game music is super similar to an Incredibox mod called Galjeri.. Specifically the Samus polo.. Awesome!!
please do more of this
Tying the more meta progress earned to achievements would be the best way to have it in a game imo, makes someone work towards goals for more efficient meta#gain rather than hinder the start of said gain
i just bought it after watchingthis and played it a couple of hours. the meta grind is mostly done after 2 hours (means you have maxed out stats) and after that you just unlock options and cosmetics with research points. i have researched everything upgradeable in my firs gaming session but i have unlocked maybe 10% of what the game offers on game modes, mods/perks and achievements. so the meta progress isnt really a thing but makes the first couple of runs a bit more unpleasant. scratching the +x% upgrades would probably help making the game more fun right from the start
I really want to see another run, I’m just curious about all the weapon combinations
Love the combination and build potentials for this game. Normally I'm not bothered, but I did find the flashing borders for healing, power ups, and the green overlay for the wave ending to be a bit jarring.
At first I was like seems decent, then I was like meh, then I was like okay really cool!
I agree. If theres an upgrade to soend metaprogress to get more metaprogress it has to be first. It doesnt even matter ehat kind of game. Been playing ixion and its clear upgrading the research labs and science vessels to get more science is clearly meta.
@AAAlpherior

Dev here: In my defense you can usually max it out after one run 😅 not the most creative upgrade, I know.
one more please, there are only so many combinations before you have seen everything but this is still very interesting, for some stupid reason im super interested in the acgt weapon 😅
want more please i would love a wildfrost long mini series
Yeah even as a person who likes metaprogression, extra meta currency upgrades are just not fun. Even worse are items during the run that increase the amount of meta currency you get.
I've played a similar game some time ago - and this one looks better because of various shapes and colors of enemies, and combinations of weapons. I'm also not a fun of researching +% metacurrency as you have no progress between few runs.
Hmm got me wondering how deep this game goes seems like the depth is crazy
i love meta progress however i thing it should be more unlocking stuff not stat boosts and deffenetly not more meta currency and even in this case i love it more if its tied to achievements
I'm 100% not the target demographic for this. I like cute shit and strategy
Round 2? 😀
I like meta progress when it's more unlocking new stuff like characters or tools to use. As much as I do like persistent upgrades, there's limit to how much I want to be upgrading. Starting bonuses or extra in run currency are nice, and even extra health, but extra damage is kinda meh depending on the game style.
@AAAlpherior

Dev here: It's mosty just an introductory kind of thing - you'll max out those stat increases about 2 hours in.

@@AAAlpherior I really want to like this game, and the basics are a lot of fun to play, but what you've done by having the meta progression system set up like this is you've balanced the game around people already having everything and locked many very basic quality of life features behind having played for several hours. You have, in essence, a game that by design serves up the worst possible version of the experience as the introductory experience. Only those who push through several runs without basic QoL where you can only buy something from the shop after several waves (with no rerolls or locking) will get to play the game you have actually designed and balanced. The shop and upgrade cost reduction ones are especially egregious because it just feels really, really bad to not be able to properly engage with the fun customization. I don't even have a problem with meta progression - I love a game where I can grind out lots of meta progression over a long period of time. Instead, you have meta progression that is not particularly satisfying to progress and appears to end once you get to the basic, balanced level of the game.
Would watch much more of this. Meta progress be damned lol.
Yes meta progress buff that increases amount of meta currency you get stinks to have
Spending meta to get more meta is stupid. Just link it to number of upgrades or something. Like every 5 upgrades you get a meta increase. Also totally agree meta to get new variety sucks.
reminds me of snkrx for some reason
Moar!!!
Sad that we never saw the fabled AAAA! weapon. 😢
What about some kind of bonus meta currency based off of total meta currency spent? Not a specific perk to put points just buy what you want and boom bonus currency.
I kinda wanna see a bomb run honestly
Series?

Inside the sins of metaprogression, the biggest offender for me is the metaprogresion that gives you more meta currency. You just have to buy that one first. Its just bad game design
On the subject of meta perks for more meta currency: if a damage or health up perk will get you further in a run, then it may very well be worth more meta currency than an early percent increase. So it isn't necessarily as obvious a choice as it seems. It involves weighing how well you can play to judge how worthwhile the meta currency perk can be for you. That's my take, anyway.

but is that an _interesting_ decision to make, not really.
You have a bad habit of asking a question about what's going to happen and then not even testing to see what will happen lmao You should explore earlier into games so that you see more stuff and then next time around you will know when something is good or bad, and this game seems very focused on you being exploratory
You seem to be struggling to define the genre. Try looking up “Twin stick shooter”.
@Retromation
9 күн бұрын
I am well aware of that genre, but it feels more general, and also doesn't typically feature a stationary unit because there literally is only one stick being used so how it is it a _twin_ stick game.
