Super Clean 1986 Dodge Ram D100 Custom Slant Six 4 Speed 8 Foot Bed Ep. 1
This is my 1986 Dodge Ram that I picked up for $2000. My plans for this truck is ti keep is as original as possible without affecting the way it runs and drives. I have done minor things to it such as tinted windows and oil change before the video. I will be posting more videos on the things I do to it in the future. Thank you for watching and please comment on what kind of things I should video from this truck. I will be doing more detailed videos as time goes on.

Had many 70s/80s mopars back in the day including an 84 Ramcharger 2wd I bought new with the 318. These 80s Dodge trucks were built well and had galvanized body panels for rust protection and worked well. The slant 6 has always been my favorite engine.
Great video! I have a 1989 D100 and I love it. I wish there was more content featuring these trucks.

Had a 225 slant six in a Dodge Dart when I was in college. Bulletproof motor. Gutless, but will run forever. The D100 was a baser than base model in the mid 1980s. So, likely didn't have a radio (the baser than base models were specially ultra-stripped ones for cost and usually only had a radio and floor mats as options). No A/C. Tall gear ratio. I had the Ford Ranger baser than base model (the Ranger S) in 1987, but the Dodge was on my list as a poor college student with a job. Nice classic, get you from point A to point B truck you have there.

I love the truck. The less electrics the better. I don’t mind it being so basic.

Put a 2 barrel carb on it for a bit more power, you will appreciate it. You can get the stock 2 barrel carb intake manifold from a junkyard or online.

Good looking truck I’ve got an 89 D100 with the 318 in it. I’ve been restoring for two years now about to get her finished up. You should flush your radiator and put a new thermostat in it. It looks like a lot of rust that come out of it. P.s there’s a lot of groups on Facebook with these trucks ones called drop D series trucks has a lot of information on dropping these trucks.
Watch for rust above the windsheild. I had an 85 slant 6 4 speed shortbed. Put 383/ straight 4 speed in. Stock axle i was told was 3:07... Not quick,but on the highway you could pass in 3rd withoutvrevving it. Did 130.
You can tell by the way they hacked the dash it was originally radio delete. Too bad somebody cut it out.
