The double combo of Dracula's Theme followed by Simon's Theme in the final fight has always been one of the best musical moments in the entire franchise.

@@pprinter 4's last few stages are still difficult but nowhere near as brutal as some areas from, say, Bloodlines or 3. Also the US version in particular of 3 was apparently made much more difficult than the Japanese one (e.g. removed checkpoint before Dracula, some enemies take more hits to kill, you take more damage, and there's some slightly different level design.)

in 1991 I was a kid who watched his older brother play this game. The rotating castle and the twisting tower graphically blew my mind. I never seen graphics like that in those days. It was revolutionary graphical fidelity.

I own Castlevania Anniversary collection on my switch and Super Castlevania 4 is my personal favorite out the entire series

Great Run, so many well timed tricks I really love to see as a casual player since the game came out. I’m definitely inspired, thank you! I see you left yourself a lil room for improvements, however not much. 😉

I’m happy to own three carts that are authentic of this game. Truly a masterpiece and amongst my favourite top ten video game of all times on all the systems and arcades

You access it after beating the game the first time and you start off at the beginning of the game. After the credits roll, it starts automatically on hard mode.

Missed the last 2 years of GDQ :( Looking forward to the winter one.

I've seen runs for this game on normal. This is from years ago, and some of the jumps are scaring me

I never realized how "long" Castlevania IV really is. I don't think I ever really got past the dancing ghosts boss.

Fuck those swinging lights. I always hated that part.

I remember coming to dracula and died the first time then spawned in front of the stairs, I jumped because I wanted to die and get the password so I can go to sleep but I jumped on the invisible floor and wondered wtf, hearts start to fall all of the sudden wtf I couldn't believe it, I love that game the same way I loved it back then

What controller was he using ?

Triples is best.

I thought the game WAS hard mode :(

Well, it's already very difficult in "normal" mode. Hard mode is like _really_ hard mode

It was ok, 7.5 out of 10 super hearts.
