They are actually all linked by the fact that their parents or at least one parent have Sickle Cell Anaemia, the cell has mutated within them to create the Supacell which gives them their powers. I am a proud Brit that could not be prouder right now, Rapman is a legend and this show is 100/10

My sister, who has SC sickle cell, broke this down for me...... the powers manifest from the things they need. The runner is a run away, running from a racist family. The time traveler manipulates time to be there for everyone he loves. The strong man wants to be stronger for his son, so he becomes stronger. Lazer wishes he could disappear, so he does.

I love it❤As a Nurse , As a South Londoner and as person with the Sickle Cell trait . This is so relatable . I've watched it twice now . We need SEASON 2 NOW!!!!!!!!!!

I love how this show is more of a human drama over the plot of the story and the super powers. All the characters are so relatable. I hated Tazer at first, but by episode three was on board.

If there is a season two it MUST be as organic and intricate as we saw. The story line can NOT cut corners just to get it released on Netflix nor ruined by corporate executives so that strong sci-fi black dramas die a death and are dismissed like a fad

It is so well done, I was so mad there weren’t more episodes. It was like being hung up on. I really hope Netflix doesn’t mess this up and invests because I would gladly watch more seasons.

Love the show. I genuinely respect the level of unapologetic demon time Tazer and Krazy were allowed to display. I'm interested to see how Tazer evolves now that he's learned his mom didn't abandon him. I don't think we've seen the last of Krazy either.

I knew it was gonna be a hit as Netflix played the previews. I hit the REMINDER button to be reminded when the show first hits the screen. I did finish the show in 1 day & wanted to pull my hair out when it ended!😜 I said, I”I need MORE!”

As a person with sickle cell trait show was really shot in south London places I’ve live Lewisham Brixton…etc….great show hope…always felt sickle cells were strange the shape it’s an unusual type of disease great great show 👊🏾

Supacell is the Best New Series of 2024. Every episode had me on the edge of my seat. Especially the finale. Netflix definitely needs to give Supacell a Season 2. And hopefully, they'll receive at least 10 episodes.

I was surprised at how good it was. And being from Compton I seen so much of California gang culture reach way out there thats crazy. But it more than just a gang story, it a super hero story ,and a Love story. Never seen a blend of these genres with a all black cast beforel. The acting is on Point. The special effects and seeing Black Love was just refreshing to see.

I really do like that none of the motivations of the supers in the beginning were to help people. Some wanted to use their powers for personal gain, some just wanted to lead normal lives, and one wanted to save someone. By the end they all have a common goal. And I like that it's only when they're confronted with something much bigger than themselves that they actually think about what to do with their powers.

Right! Like a poster said, this show reminds me of “Heroes”. People discover their abilities eand choose to use them for good or bad. Like you, I wish we knew more about the antagonists and why THEY chose evil. We saw how they were able to turn one, but there’s so much more we needed to know in order to really raise the stakes. I hope the show learns from “Heroes” and introduces more than one big bad because once that’s resolved-the show will die like “Heroes” did once they “saved the cheerleader”

I loved the show and the character development n an all blk cast n not really saving the world situation now future wise that's fine if it goes that way in like season 3 im happy to see ppl of my skin color shine instead of just having one or 2 in a cast full of other or same colors this needed to happen like im still waiting on static shock to happen

It's to also highlights (Sickle Cell disease) which is found mainly in black people. This show had many, messages. Mainly love..which people seem to have missed. It was fantastic 👏🏿

My finger was hovering over the “like" button for your video while waiting with bated breath for what you have to say. I hit the thumb up at 0:29 when you declared that you finished the series in one day and flashed that bright smile. Brov (and I’m Caribbean American using that slang)!!! So, the spoiler alert wasn’t warranted but one point I want to challenge, these folks have tons in common besides their neighborhood. The producers dealt with issues so subtly that you’re learning a lot while being thoroughly entertained. I LOVED IT. I think it’ll be up to lots of awards. You had me smiling throughout your review. Clearly a smart guy. Have you seen raising Dion? I hit subscribe and am off to find “Top Boy” since you mentioned it.

Im just learning that it's just 6 episodes, not good on Netflix side. I love this show. Found it very interesting the take on superheroes, very entertaining. And there are several outstanding talents in this show. Taze is the first one.

The proof that good Writing & good characters will make for great series or movies. Even if you don’t know The actors or unfamiliar with Storyline. So good you don’t want to end.

I found this series because I follow Tosin Cole (Michael) from Doctor Who. I'm amazed at his acting range. And Eric Kotfi-Abrefa from BMF was a different side of his mean character in Black Mafia Family. Calvin Demba, the fast guy, was great in Youngers, where he portrayed a young rapper trying to get in the music business.

I love this show and would like to see more :) Better than anything coming out of Disney atm :) and i to watched them back to back :)

I do much love the twist. Not like the regular superhero movies. Wow! Kudos to everyone involved in making this beautiful and breathtaking superheros series

I'm biased too. I love superheroes. I can't rate it... because I'm glad Netflix suggested this to me. This series was AWESOME. I usually skip through series due time constraints, but not this one. I watched it like a movie. I'm so glad that sickle cell was woven into this stories. BTW, excellent review!!!

I am in love with this show, it is AWESOME !!! The story line of each character is great, as you keep watching the series their story lines begin to intertwine. SUPACELL is special. I hope it stays on for at least 5 years !!! The portals are awesome, there was one scene where the four them finally was fighting together like Marvel superheroes. High drama but great writing and acting !!! I am learning about the UK which is cool. They swag hit different !!! Story line between Tazer and Krazy is bonkers !!!! I am a fan of super hero movies and a Brit. Thank you for your review, I enjoyed this movie too. I thought I was just watching a film to support black artist but the movie soon demonstrated that it was high budget, clever and very watchable. I too binged the whole series after promising myself not to. I suppose it will lean to some of the"top boy" ideas because that is the London, black culture. I would also align it with the movie "get out" what is the film world saying about black people being special and desired? Michael the protagonist was too pretty 😍 but held his own. The love Interest I feel was acting younger than she was and as a natural girl (myself) her straight wig annoyed me. However I accepted her in the end, but was not convinced of his total devotion of love to her. I would give it 8/10 for the mere fact I could not stop watching it.

Loved it!! I've been noticing more and more shows about people being able to tap in to powers. I love it for real ! The storylines were good too. It was super violent for my taste but still good AF! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Definitely can't wait til Season 2. I personally feel like there's some historical truth to us being able to tap in to other abilities that none of us know that we may have for real! ✨️✨️ #SUPACELL 🔥

I have seen an article somewhere about this series and decided to look into it. I was very hesitant to watch it because I expected yet another generic superhero woke crap series but then decided to check out the first episode, which delivered big time. It doesn't matter if someone doesn't like superheroes or has superhero fatigue because this feels different. They never become superheroes in the sense of dedicating their lives to saving people and the world in general. They are just regular everyday people who have a lot to deal with and then get these powers on top of that, which gives them even more crap to have to deal with. I love how you mentioned The Boys because if I had to describe it to someone, I would say Heroes Season 1 mixed with The Boys. I binged the series within a 24-hour window and can't wait for season 2. To me, this series felt like a breath of fresh air with an original story with characters that could be anybody - you, me, people we know, or people we pass by on the street, not knowing what they can do or what they are up to in their lives. It was a very nice surprise and I am happy that I decided to give it a shot, otherwise, I would never have known what I missed out on. I haven't seen such a good superhero series in a long while.

I just finished the last episode, and I'm speechless. I hope the Netflix doesn't drop the ball with this one. It's so good!!

Same, I've learned too many times a character isn't necessarily dead if they die off screen.

If I had super powers, more than likely I’m only helping myself. Plus people knowing you have powers can be dangerous

I'm just happy they didn't drag out every plot line. Each episode continued right off from the ending of the prior. It was great. I absolutely need a 2nd season. Better than The Boys, tbh. Boys is too damn gory and the story has gotten lost.

They weren’t all trying to save the world, they fought for self preservation. I found myself wondering what I would do if I was given random powers 😅

Not watched it yet. Then I heard it described as Misfits meets Top Boy and now I need to watch it!

It had special effects similar to Black lightning and story telling similar to the Heroes, the Future timeline anyway, i hope they go into the future in Season 2
