Sup Safe Leisure Paddling

Спорт

We teamed up with Sam Ross, a world class watersports coach and the RNLI to produce "Sup Safety at Sea" a series of informative videos with the aim of helping SUP enthusiasts in enjoying time on the water by considering safety.
In this episode we head to Brighton and go through some of the essentials in heading out for your first time. We talk about equipment and conditions.
Remember safety is a priorty, if in doubt don't go out.
Hope this helps and you have a great time on the water.

I always wear a pfd (belt bag version), I hardly know it's there. I carry a whistle as well as phone. The worry in Brighton is that you often see paddlers without a leash plus dogs without pfd's ....this may sound crazy, but 500 metres from shore when a cheap isup blows, it's going to be "every man and dog for themselves".

Very sensible. palm make a great one that we are getting for lagoon club members to use. Another useful safety device is logging your trip on the RYA SafeTrx app . really good app in case things go wrong. you can find out more at link below and download from the relevant App Store - www.rya.org.uk/knowledge-advice/safe-boating/keep-in-touch/Pages/safetrx.aspx
