@Lightstrikers Who do you think plays better? Hu Haiquan's personal style was very straight delivery. He didn't add many flourishes in the way that most suona players do (even seem to focus on). This sort of distillation can sound very austere compared to other players but I don't know that it necessarily was a "better" or "worse" way to render the composition.

Hu Qai Quan was a master musician and teacher. He was of great importance to developing and accepting the suona as a concert instrument.
