SUNSHINE = Heart Shaped Wings + “Beep Beeps”

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

We are in Toronto Ontario, Canada and it’s a Sunny beautiful day. Very rare to such amazing weather like this in December, so we are taking full advantage of the weather and Ricco is getting some natural Vitamin D.
FYI - Ricco is in his travel cage as I stored his outside cage already. I always wash his outdoor cage and put it away for the winter, so I decided to just use his travel cage.
Hope everyone has a great day 😊☀️

I got my pigeon rescue, Birdie, a modular cage as he's walking on the ground as opposed to perching, he was absolutely adorable today as he thinks the kitchen light is the sun and he's been laying down, all spread out, "sunbathing" all afternoon. He loves his new extended living space and I am going to put a bath in to help ease his moulting. Thankfully, his feathers are coming back in beautifully. Aw Rico is so sweet, beep beep! Those poses are amazing!❤ I don't know if I told you this, but we have Indian Ring Necked Parakeets in London that have naturalised. The local flock of around 80 roosts in a big tree in our garden and just before dark every night, they do a spectacular fly past, they really are beautiful and the Royal Society for the protection of birds have said that they arent impacting on indigenous birds so seem happy to leave them be. They are quite the tourist attraction in some London parks as they will land on people for food. They are really spectacular birds, you're lucky.

Wow I’d love to have wild ringneck parrots around. I got Ricco a UVB light for the winter, he seems to enjoy especially after a bath. I actually have a review video about it, not sure if it’s something your pigeon may like. I’ll share the link so you can see it 😊kzread.info/dash/bejne/jKB9xNapg8isgZc.htmlsi=oq1W433ZfMdkH5QK

Hi, I'm getting 2 lutino IRN, 4 weeks old, hand feeding and handled. I will finish handfeeding, spoon. Any suggestions for best teaching treats? I raised conures, quackers, tiels years ago. Living in the Philippines so birds are very inexpensive compared to US

Just use a treat that they like and that you will not be feeding them otherwise. I use pine nuts, and almonds but again it’s what they really like and it’s not part of their regular diet. Also I’d recommend having separate cages to be safe, ringneck parrots can be very aggressive towards each other, especially if they are not bonded. It’s also better when trying to work with them.

@@Riccothegreenpiedirn They are from the same clutch and have been together since hatching, which I hope will be a good thing. Once introduced to seed, I will see what they really like and seperate as a training treat. TY Your latino seems to be not.as loud as the others, or.just my imagination ?

@@flwoods1 I would still recommend separating them, especially once they start to mature. Ricco and his sister were together in the same cage and were raised from the same clutch however his sister was very aggressive towards him. He didn’t eat because of her, it’s actually one of the reasons I took him home the same day. Also if you do a all seed diet it’s important to feed them lots of vegetables, greens and fruits. Seeds is like junk food, so it’s important they have other nutrients. Hope it all goes well, good luck.

How long have you had them for. Also if they are or in separate cages I highly recommend you separate them unless they are a bonded pair.
