Hi,
I recently visited Coon Bluff Recreation Area near Mesa, Arizona to see the wild horses that live along the Salt River.
Unfortunately, I didn't see any horses on this trip, but I enjoyed the early morning sunrise over the river. The sights and sounds of rushing water, birds singing and the sun's warm morning glow of the bluff still made this trip worthwhile.
Things to Know
Location: 34 miles northeast of Phoenix, Arizona, near Mesa
Trail Hours: Sunrise to Sunset
Distance: ~1 miles (out & back along the river)
Difficulty: Easy
