No and no. You're really missing out if you think this horrible track is in any way representative of their work. First off, the vocals are tone deaf, histrionic, and clash badly with the tonality in the equally bland and uncharacteristic organ part, which sounds like a bad mimic of Koyaanisqatsi on an inferior instrument. My favorite Sunn O))) work sounds completely different: for example Black 1, Flight of the Behemoth, White 1 (especially My Wall with Julian Cope), ØØ Void, and Kannon is decent as well. Compare also a few of the Earth albums up on youtube, and you'll see they are better than this.

In case it's useful, it's a line taken from a poem by William Blake, called 'To Nobodaddy', so though the language is archaic it's actually from the Romantic era, the 18th/19th century.

Raul Rafael idk it's drone metal. I still like some of their other songs a lot better than this one. This one is simply "okay" in my own opinion. It Took the Night to Believe is probably one of my favorites by them. It's extremely dark and rather bass heavy, which is the type of stuff I enjoy in any genre of music.

bladesmithy 018 There's a way to get the lyrics to all Sunn O))) songs. Have a notepad ready, tie a rope around your cats neck, tape a bucket to its head, then drown it in a bathtub. Jot down any sounds that vaguely resemble words and voila!

TGS is right, its Early Modern/High Middle English. To a modern English speaker it sounds like the author might be addressing God, due to its association with the King James Bible, but that's speculation regarding the author's intent.

In case it's useful, it's a line taken from a poem by William Blake, called 'To Nobodaddy', so though the language is archaic it's actually from the Romantic era, the 18th/19th century.

Is this song really a reenactment of Why Dost Thou Hide Thyself in Clouds from Neil Young, the soundtrack of the film Dead Man ?....

I don't think so. Both are appropriations of a William Blake poem called "To Nobodaddy".

Raul Rafael idk it's drone metal. I still like some of their other songs a lot better than this one. This one is simply "okay" in my own opinion. It Took the Night to Believe is probably one of my favorites by them. It's extremely dark and rather bass heavy, which is the type of stuff I enjoy in any genre of music.

i think you have to see them live to actually see what they are trying to make, and this track is a bit off so it might not be the right one to make the comment on. but still their concerts aren't expensive and of the 200 bands i've seen live this was the most staggering experience. do it, try to dive into it (bring ear plugs) and judge again
This can’t be serious. What musician would actually write music like this?

People that have soul and feel the spirit of the music. Not the mind-numbing wank of musicians trying to impress with their technical skill, whilst producing a complex layered pile of turds (ie : Dream Theatre)))
This wouldve been better without the vocals. Almost not listenable.

I don't think it's bad, but I do think it shouldn't classify as metal.
