i love her music video concepts sooo much!! she always goes for darker, quirky, haunting concepts and i really appreciate her artistry in, not only her video concepts but also her music. you can tell she really loves what she does

Personally I LOVE the song, the switchup in prechorus (?) reminded me of 2ne1's Come Back Home, and the instrumentation in the chorus and how it goes into the bridge is so satisfying and spooky it immediately got stuck in my head. One of my favourite releases from her tbh.

Sunmi is the first kpop artist I fell in love with back in 2018 cuz she always does retro, and I have loved every song, but When I heard the teaser I was uncertain about the song. Now listening to it its very experimental and disjointed, I wish their was something to link the music better or like a fade in?? I like the song, but also dont. I dont think it'll be something I'll actively reach out to, but I appreciate her trying something different. I loveeedd the mv and the concept, it had the typical sunmi touch quirky, sexy, and fun. Now her other spooky bop fullmoon, has a sister !

i loved the mv a lot for her bringing the spooky vibe that we needed in october. i especially loved sunmi as morticia addams and the whole frankenstein homage. but the chorus seriously fell flat and is already aging badly for me and ive only listened to the song 3 times (the mv, the performance, and audio only). i do enjoy the verses and bridge but theyre really disjointed from that chorus. i wouldnt mind the chorus if it didnt pause after every 8 count.

All the beat change and the repetitive chorus gives off a weird feeling which I guess was the aim of the whole production. It has spooky theme, and the whole song is just "strange" (pun with the song name Stranger ahah). It is not something that is supposed to be cheerful, or something smooth. It's raw and it is supposed to make you feel not at ease. It throws you off, which is cool. Unexpected. I get why people don't consider it as her best song as it's probably not something you'll listen to everyday, at least it's not something THAT mainstream. But I adore all the thoughts, the spooky vibes and the production behind it. Personally I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, because I tend to dislike repetitive choruses. But I ended up enjoying it a lot. I love the song! Also, the verses are my favorite. As always, sunmi is cool!

The pre-chorus reminds me of the verse from the song Come Back Home by 2ne1. If i got to be honest, this is a huge failed attempt at experimental mixx-pop production to serve as a shock factor for it to work well. NMIXX did this with their first two title tracks and while they're not that good production wise, at least they somehow pretty clunkily find ways to connect within each section despite the blurred vision that they tried to achieve. On this track, it's just a mess with minimal thoughts put into it. There's no vision whatsover. In my opinion, Stranger is just a literal copy-and-paste sectional joint produced-song that tries to display ambitiousness yet it strays far from the path. I just know that Sunmi could've done better than this 😢

I might end up liking it, but after 2 listens, I believe it’s a bit too disjointed. It feels to me like we’re landing in the middle of another song each time. I believe the song would have benefited being longer and focusing/developing each part a bit more !
