It wasn't the shipping, it was the nitpicking and scrutinizing their relationship. How do you think sunki day even started? Ni-ki's mom told him how much fans loved the sunki ship, he then told Sunoo and they started sunki day. They've literally been shipped together since I-land and neither one of them had an issue with it, they didn't start drifting apart until people started making horrible accusations about Ni-ki bullying Sun. After that, he stopped interacting with him entirely and distanced himself because literally every interaction he had with him was picked apart.
