I am never tired to hear Gayatri's eloquence! Such insights and depth are not only rare but intellectually so inspiring and humbling at the same time. Ethically challenging the Western knowledge hegemony is what makes my admiration for her even greater!

It is said in France that Chinmoy Guha speaks speaks French like god. But I am a Bengali and I can say that Chinmay Guha speaks Bengali also like god because I have sat in those classes which used to resonate with the vibration of his utterances and transfix us with a magic of sound of literature and human excellence. He often used to mention about THE LAST POINT of artists and seekers which many of his students will remember..

she's breath-taking!! just absolutely brilliant! and dare i say, a wonderful teacher the way she seems to explain and explicate...about the moderator, i agree with everyone else, no amount of work on Eliot will redeem that nauseating speech (and personality)!! but at least, u guys don't have to put up with him everyday, he's th professor of our university! :p

Suranjana Sen Your comment is spot on. Who in the right mind can ever speak Bangla like this? He's such a pain in the posterior with his artificial diction...so stiff in his bloviation. I can only empathize with you and your fellow English Dept. students at CU that you had (or have) to suffer in his class. He may be a scholar but I can bet he must be a terrible, pretentious teacher who couldn't have connected with his students. It's my good fortune that I didn't have a snobbish teacher like him at CU English Dept. when I was a student in the early 70s.

Within the ambit of intellectual episode of late 60s in USA, she marked what can be done for the Indian subcontinent

Moderator Shri Chinmay Guha is mesmerising if you listen to his lectures . People should not comment without knowing him.
