The reason Sung can run as long as he did is actually sort of addressed in the manhwa. Super early on it's mentioned that although Sung is extremely weak by even E-Rank standards, he's still well above the average person. Think like two Olympic athletes fused into one person. Not enough to effectively take on hoards of monsters, but still barely enough to survive against them.
