Sunflower Necklace - Estona Metalsmithing & Jewelry Making Tutorials

I made this sunflower necklace as a Mothersday gift. The sunflower or 'soniashnyk' is the National flower of the Ukraine. It represents resistance, unity and hope. So it seemed like a perfect gift to our new Ukrainian friends who are staying with us. In this tutorial you will see different techniques, such as saw piercing, soldering and setting stones. You will also learn how you can take a flat piece of silver and shape it by using different tools.
Do you want to show your support and make a sunflower as well? You can use this tutorial as a guide. Of course it would be really nice if you would share your work on your socials by tagging me at @estona.jewelry.tutorials.
Don't have the right tools? Check out my affiliate links with nice discount codes below. By using these links buying tools is a lot of fun for the both of us. You will receive a nice discount and I will receive a small bonus from the company mentioned as well. I will only work with companies I trust, have talked to face to face, and who provide quality tools. So you are in good hands with them.
Furthermore I would like to point out that all my videos are and will remain free. In return, it would be awesome if you could take the time to share my channel on your socials and spread the word.
That's all. I think it's a privilege to create a community of people doing what I love most. So thank you so much for your support, it means the world to me.
Have a wonderful day,
Bregje

How fun to have your Ukraine company! Loving this project, I am going to make it for a friend that adores sunflowers 🌻 . I have a tip for you on cleaning up the areas between the petals that are hard to reach; they are called Moore's flexible snap-on sanding discs, you can snap them on the mandrel they work with, with the grit on top or underneath. And, you can even carve the metal smoothly, making the edges of your petals rounded. They'll make this job a breeze, I think you'll love them. I'll send you a pic/link. Thank you for this great tutorial Bregje! 🌺

Hi Bregje (I know I didn’t spell that correctly - How do you spell your name? 😊)! I just started watching but noticed your desk lamp immediately as I’m looking for a really good one. Does yours have a magnifier on top and if so, what is the magnifying strength? Does it clamp to your bench or does it stand on it? Is it daylight strength? Does it have different levels of light? Sorry for all of those questions! Thanks so much!! Back to watching your video now….

Hi Kristin, you spelled it perfectly! This is an old lamp like my grandmother used to use. It magnifies 2,5 or 5 times. Not really sure, and it has a light on it. I can clamp it on my bench. It was a cheap lamp so not too many options. The on and off button and that's it, ;-)

@@Estona.Jewelry.Tutorials I can’t believe I spelled it correctly! :). The lamp sure does look like great quality and a strong & powerful light! If you ever happen upon a great work light/lamp for working on tiny, detailed things, please remember me and let me know! Thanks for another fantastic and helpful video!!
