Medellín is the second-largest city in Colombia and the capital of the Antioquia department. It is located in the Aburrá Valley, a central region of the Andes Mountains in South America. Residents of Medellín are known as "paisas,".
Roads in Medellin vary in quality. While major roads in the city are generally well-maintained, some rural or mountainous areas may have narrower or less developed roads.
Expect congestion, especially during peak hours. Medellin is a densely populated city, and traffic can be heavy. On the weekend, the roads of Poblado, el Centro and Las Palmas are not too busy.
