Hey Robin! Thanks for demonstrating homemade hummingbird nectar- the store bought is full of unnecessary dye and preservatives. For clarification it is 1:4 ratio. For example: Tiny batch: 1/8 cup sugar: 1/2 cup water. Small batch: 1/4 cup sugar: 1 cup water. Medium batch: 1/2 cup sugar: 2 cups water. Large batch: 1 cup sugar: 4 cups water. Extra Large batch: 2 cups sugar: 8 cups water.

I am not finished watching the video yet -- but i just thought so sweet how the neighbour dog visits. Then it was adorable when your grandson raking and said thankyou when your hubby brought him some sweet tea. I relate with you because i love doing yard work too. I have always done the mowing & anything else in the yard. Love planting flower bed etc & my hubby tho not into flowers -- thinks it looks nice.

Awesome!! Again, what motivation!! 🤗 I put our hummingbird feeders out last week and we’ve only seen 2 so far. But I’m so happy that my weeding is done for a month or so. Thank you again for helping me get that task done last week. I needed that!! 🤗 I have come to the conclusion that I need a few elephant ears in my flower beds. Girl I love yard work and being outside. I love love love to mow riding mower that is.😂 I do all the yard work my husband puts fertilizers down in the spring and I have a guy that weedeats for us but I do everything else. I tell my husband " you keep it green and I'll keep it cut".😅

Robin imo the home made hummingbird sugar water is best. Our birds come regardless of the color of the feeder. I think when you have flowers it attracts them. I love the gardening videos added in, those yellow bushes are stunning!

Your yard is looking awesome! I wish mine was as pristine as yours. We were so dry and the wind blew 90 miles an hour for what seemed like two solid months. I was finally able to get out and set a few things out and then we had over five inches of rain in two days! Flood warnings are out everywhere. My garden is underwater and the yard is spongy. I am at a standstill for a little while. They are calling for several more chances for rain this week. I am just grateful we didn't have the weather the poor people in Nebraska and Oklahoma have had! Praying for them and feeling very humble. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Robin, I'll watch whatever you post, I love it all. I wish you lived near me as we are splitting hostas, I have so many huge ones. We split them and give them away to neighbors and friends. Hi Robin.....Oh my goodness....I have that SAME hummingbird feeder (the one you are throwing away) It USED to be Purple but faded with the sun. A friend of mine told me hummingbirds like Red feeders, so I'm thinking of painting the base of it red.....wish me luck....We will see if that attracks the hummingbirds. Now...Elephant ears! I was considering getting some for one of my flower beds.....now that I heard your ordeal with them....I probably won't! Those beds look great. Love the stone border. I don’t know how you crouch like that. lol. I use a kneeler with a cushion for my knees and you can turn it over and it becomes a bench. It’s a game changer! Still need to bend over but better than crouching. lol. Also maybe why grass is not growing is because it’s not getting enough sun? Looks like the house keeps it in shade? Just a thought. Keep up the great work!!

I believe that your better off with the plain sugar water. I have heard that commercial stuff isn’t good for the birds. I do wonder if your chime might be scaring the hummingbirds from coming to the feeder???? Here in CT we don’t really plant until middle-end of May but I have put a few things out but what I really need to do is major weeding because I hz e so much grass within my small flower beds but it’s still wet and cold around here lately. Have a great week🌷💫🌷
