Suncoaster Overnighter - Bikepacking the Sunshine Coast
Спорт
It wasn't the biggest ride of my life by any means, but it looked like the last chance of the year before the winter weather truly descended, and new restrictions came into effect, so I grabbed my bike and went out for an overnight bikepacking ride on the Sunshine Coast. The morning greeted me with frost and, with three pairs of socks still not feeling like enough, I pedalled back to the ferry and the warmth of home, happy to have at least spent a little time in nature this week.
The 'Suncoaster' is an incredible little gravel/MTB route that begs to be extended when the daylight hours are at least a little longer (sunset at 4:30 in the afternoon is a bit of a mileage killer!). I can't wait to come back in the spring and do the extended version of this route, possibly without luggage. (You can find my ride on my komoot profile).
Kit - Shand Stooshie, with 650b Hunt wheels, Shimano GTX, Sendero tubeless tyres, Apidura Expedition bags, Veloccio apparel, SunGod sunnies.

Great video Jenny. Extra points awarded for undertaking it on the drop bar bike. Consider us impressed!
All those Maple leaves-the Sunshine Coast has to be in Canada. Autumn is beautiful but spring is my favourite-when the trees come back to life.
You've done it again. Amazing ride. Really like the early morning sunlight shafts through the trees. Great choice of uplifting music reminding the viewer that the freedom to explore will return one day.
Always keeping my eyes open to see more videos from you, love your work!
Beautiful space through which to roll Jenny. Breathing in woodland chi - can't get better. Mark

Thanks Mark! You bet, it felt amazing to get outside and be there :)
I think my hiking buddy, who've I haven't been hiking with in ages, has that MSR tent. It must be pretty good cause he's quite picky. Amazing stuff.
Always great to see a new video from you! I might like my home comforts too much to go bike packing 😂 however your videos always provide motivation to get out there and enjoy the Great Outdoors 🍁👍

Thanks so much Bob, that means a lot to me!
I always enjoy your videos. You helped to inspire me to do my first proper bikepacking trip this year. From South Wales to the Lake District over 4 days which I absolutely loved. Im busy planning next years adventure now 👍👍👍
Lovely video, and an inspiration to get out and get some fresh air! Already looking forward to next one:-)

I have the boots from them, but it would be amazing to be able to wear them while cycling! :)

@@JennyTough_ maybe size up a little bit in your cycling shoes to make some room - worth a try!
That was really special Jenny. I always like your videos. The only thing that I missed was your voice.

Thanks Mike! I didn't have much to say... Just a happy little (freezing cold) bike ride :)
This makes me want to get outside. Great video!
Excellent ride! I just completed a 2 nighter on the California coast in similar terrain environment. Very nice setup. Glad to see this video. So inspiring.
That looks like one cool ride. I am planning on going on a two-day bike packing trip here in Portugal in December myself but it looks like new restrictions might not allow me to venture out. I guess it's a good excuse to upgrade my drivetrain and start planning routes for when we can roam again. Keep those pedals turning, Jenny!

Thanks so much! Hopefully you can get a 2-day window to play... we all need a night out in nature to get through this!!
👏👏👏
Beautiful angles, makes me miss the SC so much!! My dog Zora and I did the Suncoaster last year as part of our 60 day gulf coast & islands bikepacking loop. If you're looking for any more routes or destinations in that area let me know! I have a series of videos on the trip too, if you're interested.
:)
awesome, what is your komoot profile?
Nice video but what wrong with the Potato quality? 360p lol
Hii jenny
I can recommend Davinci Resolve for a higher video quality
