Congrats to Ayhika! Good to see Indian TT or athletes doing well. This all boils down to having programs to allow your athletes to train and compete.

Anti-spin rubber is very hard to use. Ayhika must have a lot of trainings to tame this anti-rubber and make it as her unique weapon. She even twiddled her paddle during a point and used the red inverted rubber with her backhand to mess up the world no.1 rhythm. This was not easy to pull off. Way to go, Ayhika. I wish to see you beat all top players again in Olympics.

Hahaha, "beat all top players in Olympic"? What a joke. Today she can't even beat a low ranking Taiwanese girl. Losing her 4th set 2-11. Just because she managed to beat Sun once, every Indian thinks that she is no. 1 now. Remembered Cho of Korea? He beat Fan ZD, world no. 1. Where is Cho now? Beaten by so many lower rankings players.

@@jamessoo4486 this is the characteristic of pips rubber, it's not only anti spin, but also returns 70 to 80 % of spin emitted by opponent.

All three India's players use pits on their backhand, interesting. The first game, Sun was 10:7 ahead, then lost 5 straight points and the game, which set the negative tone for Sun. Sun losing 1:3 to a lowly ranked India player was shocking which also affected later Wang Yidi who lost in straight sets, another shocking! Without Wang Manyu's resilience and calmness, China would be beaten badly. After overcoming Mima Ito's challenge, China probably thought they had solved pits problem. India players have shown they haven't.

In any sport, beating the world no. 1 once in a while does happen for various reasons,such as, the world no. 1 could not hit her form and at the same time, the lower player played her guts out with nothing to lose. Look at Cho of Korea and others too who managed to beat Fan ZD once. But where are there now? Lost so many times to lower ranked players so often. If Ayhika can beat Sun more than once, yes, maybe Ayhika is something. However what happened today, she lost to a low rank Taiwanese girl and the 4th set was 2-11. Bubble burst or she lost her form. I leave it to you to be the judge.

Ayhika M played well. After losing 1st & 3rd game from winning position, SunYS got tentative, while Ayhika gained confidence 🙏🙏

Superb plays by Ayhika. What an achievement !

Yep her forhand smashes were lethal. She used the bh anti rubber to nicely set up and used the fh to kill and also her counters were top notch. She was a better player at the match and she won convincingly.

I have a feeling that this is going to be bad. For one, as someone like me who also uses anti rubbers, the surprise factor will be gone when a lot of players start using anti. Another thing is if this catches up, ITTF might ban anti rubbers if lots of pros started using it. It will make the game unwatchable on TV/stream and will appear boring for the casuals. It might end the same fate as the frictionless pimples.

Ayhika and the other Indian players are the perfect distruptors in the world of TT in a positive way. China is way superior as a TT sporting country but have only relied on a fast paced game. Anti-spin and pips combination will slow down the game, but will make the players think a bit. Chinese and other top players across the world will need to re-wire their brains quickly (which is very hard) as other players across the world will learn and emerge. Interesting times ahead ,... lets wait and watch if this is a long term change

Congratulations to Ayhika Mukherjee, despite having no support from Common masses, government and with inadequate infrastructure she displays a spectacular performance against world no 1. We need to actively support this sports......

Sun ying sa doesn't get used to play against anti spin rubber, anti spin rubber effects are slowing ball down and making less spinning ball this makes opponent make mistakes in blocking, chopping and top spinning. Sun ying sa should avoid anti spin rubber by attacking her opponent forehand.

Ya betul kekalahan sasa atas aayikha karena gadis tiongkok itu tidak menguasai karet anti , saran anda untuk menyerang sisi FH itu juga bukan solusi , karena ayikha bisa bergeser tetap memukul dgn antinya bahkan ayikha bisa membalik dayungnya dgn cepat dan seandainya ayikha memukul dengan sisi FH efeknya sama jahatnya dengan anti karena dia mempergunakan jerawat.cara mengalahkan harus sering berlatih melawan karet anti semakin sering anda berlatih melawan anti atau jerawat semakin mudah untuk mengatasinya.

Ha...the black is definitely smooth rubber, but I think it's anti spin! The way she uses it definitely looks like it's some type of anti spin rubber. I'll try to find out which one she uses. There are several types of newer anti spins now that are pretty weird.

Such a weird mix of block+brush against topspin attack that completely cancels the spin and speed of the ball creating low and short return making it so difficult to continue the offense. Her equipment helps too. SYS’s rhythm is completely disrupted. Although she’s quite lucky with her flat hits to keep her opponent constantly on her toes and trying not to give weak returns, which forces errors. Flat hitters get good game once in a while but never consistent enough to earn become famous.

Meh. Some rare time someone got lucky and beats the best and everyone always go crazy on she’s the next prodigy. People nowadays aren’t too smart. I’m talking about a more realistic achievement. We’ll see in another year or two. Personally, I think she’ll be a worse Qian Tian Yi at best.

The reduction of speed seems way more than normally is whenever ayhika was blocking.even simple block from her against a fast shot completely lost power and there was no way to attack!!!

세계랭킹 1위도 고전하는 전형과 스핀이 있네요;; 중국 내에도 허주오자 같은 뽕 선수가 없는게 아니고 심지어 그런 선수 만나도 순잉샤가 매번 바르는데.. 이토 미마한테도 상대전적 압도적이고, 저런 비슷한 공을 수없이 받아봤을텐데. 인도 선수 느낌이 지금의 니시아리안이 풋웍을 장착하면 저런 타법을 쓰지 않을까 하는 느낌.

저는 지금까지 뽕은 드라이브를 잘 치는 사람에겐 힘을 못쓴다고 알고 있었는데, 이 경기를 보면서 그 고정관념이 여지없이 깨지네요. 한국 선수들하고 할 때는 밉쌀스럽게 잘하는 세계 1위 쑨잉샤가 힘 한번 못쓰고 지네요. 인도 선수의 폼이 어딘지 좀 엉성하고 스윙도 좀 어색한 느낌이 드는데도 쑨잉샤의 강력한 드라이브도 거의 다 받아내고, 드라이브라기 보다 스매싱에 더 가까운 듯한 포핸드 공격은 성공률이 정말 높네요. 리시브도 거의 실수가 없었고, 먼쪽으로 길게 공을 보내는 경우가 많았는데 그게 중국 선수에게도 통하네요. 뭔가 변칙적이고 조금 엉성해 보이지만, 역설적으로 수비와 리시브가 탄탄하고 공격도 강력한 한방이 있네요. 이번 대회에서 중국 여자 선수 쑨잉샤와 왕이디 두 사람이 공교롭게 인도 선수를 만나 힘 한 번 못쓰고 탈락했습니다. 이런 기회에 더구나 한국 부산에서 열리는 세계선수권대회에서 신유빈 선수가 개인전 금메달을 꼭 땄으면 하는 바람 간절합니다.
