Sun Princess: Shipyard Visit and Exclusive First View On Princess Cruises' New Cruise Ship
Exclusive insights into the construction of the SUN PRINCESS at Fincantieri in Monfalcone: On December 6, 2023, we visited the shipyard and had the opportunity to take a closer look at the Sun Princess in its final construction phase.
She is due to set sail on her maiden voyage in Barcelona on February 8, 2023, and we are already showing some of the spectacular features of the new Princess flagship, such as "The Dome" and the "Horizon Dining Room". We also show the main cabin and suite categories, including the new Cabana cabins.

She is set to set sail on Feb. 8, 2024...5 weeks from now....Is she going to meet that deadline? Looks a long ways from being ready to sail with passengers.

So far, I haven't heard anything about delays. I've seen many cruise ships in shipyards, also some being refurbished within just three or four weeks time, and they always look like this even shortly before delivery. There are great parts completely finished, just covered behind protective sheets; or design elements and furniture for a whole section completely finished and just sitting somewhere waiting to be put in. So an almost empty room with cable hanging from the ceiling could be finished within two or three days, and you'd wonder how this was ever possible...

Yes and no - actually, the cabana cabin does have two areas: one is kind of a wintergarden which can even be closed off completely and is more part of the cabin itself. Outside of that, the cabin has a regular (uncovered) balcony in addition.
