This is one of the best songs ever recorded. Whenever I listen I have to repeat it 3 or 4 times to absorb it all
This is a fantastic performance. Musically I think it''s even more intense and haunting than the album version

Something about this song and performance is so chilling. It's like he manages to compress time somehow and bring the past into the present. This is like a true modern folk song imo.

The only version I listen too... and easily my favorite piece of music by Sun kil moon... absolutely gorgeous, once a month since it came out..... I'd have never sincerely listened to his music until I first heard this version of this track.... then benji became exceptional shortly after

Plus the intensity building with each bar approaching the hook and the climax at the end is just crazy
Definitely prefer this over the album version. Has more of an eerie dark wave vibe to it that complements the subject matter of the song nicely

Been following Mark since 1993 when I thought I was *late* to the party! Second album. Amazing not just that he's still performing, but that he's still changing and finding new inspiration. He's made so many great albums that it's near impossible to believe.

this guy is new to me, but i cant get enough of his work. a breath of fresh air in a pretty ordinary music time and place.
This live performance is almost Bauhaus-esque. I love it!
Truly a fantastic story teller. I can't think of a single other musician who can turn anecdotes and conversational topics into lyrics as well as Mark. Then to pair it with good music as well is crazy. On paper it should be boring but for some reason it just marries so well and works perfectly.

Aight guys, this song (specifically this performance), more than any other that I know, NEEDS to be played through some great speakers. If you can, do yourself a favour and try it! I can only ever listen to this through my home theatre system, where sounds like their summoning the dead!
