It might be a good idea to give your Viking a 2" or more lift with that new tire displacement. One good dig by those tires on the bumper guards and off they come... not to mention damage to the tread.

For most situations that I encounter it's of no issue really and it has done fine. For me a lift kit would be the very last bottom of the barrel option, I'd rather alter or build a new bumper before raising the entire buggy. I do lots of very steep terrain working this thing and I wouldn't want it sitting any taller than it already is.

Mate the travel in the suspension design, regardless of lift, DOES NOT allow the 27" tyres to contact any part of the frame or plastic guards, ever. The Viking has plenty of clearance by design, and no close crap in the way like a few other brands.

Are these true to size mounted? Looking at the same tire for my Viking. Thanks in advance

I’m so glad I found this...I recently got a 2014 Viking 3 seater that came with 28x10x14 front tires (which do rub at full lock am certain bumps on the trail) and 28x11x14 rear. The front tires are worn out. Time for new shoes. I am looking to go to 27x9x14 front and 27x11x14 rears. OR I have a basically brand new set of 26x9x12 and 26x11x12 bighorn 2.0 sitting in the shop. I can get four new steel wheels cheaper than I can a set of tires. Question is (because I can’t compare to how the Viking 686cc feels in stock form) how does the 27” tires feel compared to stock form? How’s the low end and top end? And ill affects to the machines performance in that regard. I have no lift and stock clutch. No plans to change either one. To me it feels a little sluggish with the 28s and I don’t have power steering (yet) but with the big tires 10” wide in the front steering heavier than has to be. So I know I’m going down to a 9” wide front. But height I can’t decide 26” or 27”. Real question is how’s the power delivery feel with 27” tires vs a stock machine. Thanks!!

I mention that in the vid, it takes away from the low end for sure. It does make low gear a bit more usable for travel. I only use it as a farm cart but I live in some good size hills and it does well in everything around here. As it is, I would not want any bigger than these 27's on it for my use. I have a Kaw KRX 1000 for my play toy and there are times I'd rather have the viking on the trail due to its size and good visibility, the viking is a really good overall unit IMHO.

@@Tonnsfabrication thanks..so if I understand correctly your saying the 27s make low gear more useable? And didn’t really effect top end any? And I agree the Viking is really hard to beat for overall use work and play. It just does both really well. Do these sunF a033 run true to size???

@@jew0182 I don't normally exceed 30 mph in my use of it but larger tires increase top speed. The low gear is a tad taller so for some instances you're not in such a hurry to grab high gear out of fear of wringing it out to hard. I'm not sure if they're true to size I never put a measure stick on them.

@@Tonnsfabrication I got ya. Well I’m still torn whether to go with 26” or 27” it seems like performance wise 27 would be fine though based on your feed back and other things I’m hearing and reading. Some people have said you should still slug the clutch with 27s and definitely 28 or bigger (whatever slug means)

@@jew0182 Once you add the larger tires the need to choose low gear is more pronounced for sure. In such a situation like hill climbing and or just having it loaded with weight it's clearly telling you to use low gear. If you do lots of trail riding with muddy ruts where you normally bottom out you'll appreciate the taller 27" tires right off the bat, it makes a huge difference. Granted all these new buggies are running 32's and larger thus digging the ruts deeper it's still one of those things where every little bit helps. My personal take is I would not want them any larger on the viking but prolly not smaller either, I think 27 is about as good as it gets for just put them on a roll with it applications. They fit good, they dont rub, they work well within the gearing of the machine, they give you instant boost in ground clearance, they mount easily and nicley to the stock wheels and the cost is not so high that you hate yourself if they have a few shortcomings in other aspects.

Thanks a million for the review. I have a Viking and I’ve been looking at these tires. I’m with you. No way do I want to lift my UTV. I’d go with a 26” first. I ride in the hills and mountains in Arkansas. Anyway. Thanks. I use mine around my place and on Texas county blacktop roads more than I ride for recreation. I’m pretty sure these won’t hold up for shit on the pavement but at this low price I have to try them out.

I think the compound in these tires is very comparable to name brand tires, that's why I pointed out that they're made in Taiwan, because Maxxis and many other name brand tires have plants set up in Taiwan. I definitely use low a hell of a lot more now, I'd prolly hate myself if I'd have went with 28's as it would have just killed this thing. For general use around our farm they have been awesome so far, running around 5 psi which really helps them hug the hills, that might change when I start into hauling wood here soon. Glad this was helpful, keep your friends close and your guns closer :)

These tires were very likely made at the same tire plant where Maxxis are made. Probably same compound. I worked in tire manufacturing for almost 20 years and understand the production and manufacturing model very well. If you want a tire brand and name it Beekeeper, you don’t build a tire plant. You go to someone who’s in the business and that make it for you. Take Dick Cepek Tires. They’ve never manufactured the first tire. They’re made by Cooper Tire. Thanks again for the review.

Yes , they mount to the stock wheels quite nicely.

What size were your stock tires-25" or 26"?

Doing well. We use this viking every day on our farm and these tires are very duarable. Tread wear wise I'd say I'll get about 4 years out them before they lose enough grip for my preference.

Mine say CHINA !!
