Hello and welcome to another edition of SUMO PRIME TIME. The September meet is over but this channel never goes to sleep, as there are so many things to cover even between grand tournaments. Our feature this time is on former Sekiwake Kaisei who had his retirement ceremony on October 1 in Kokugikan in Tokyo. More than 300 people took part in his hair-cutting ceremony which included Kaisei’s family and friends from Brazil. Kaisei also invited me to take part in his hair-cutting ceremony and what an amazing experience it was. Thank you, Kaisei for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! We’re all wishing nothing but the best in his new endeavor as a coach. We hope all of you have a good time watching this clip which includes an in-depth coverage of Kaisei's sensational top division debut performance from the 2011 May Tournament. Please enjoy! Now, here’s a reminder of the next grand sumo tournament which takes place in Fukuoka, southwestern Japan. The final tourney of the year will get underway on Sunday, November 12. I've only been into the sport now for 2 1/2 years. In this short amount of time, it was VERY easy to spot Kaisei as a great wrestler, and great person. I dunno if I necessarily agree with the GOAT (Hakuho) talking about him needing to scale back his kindness, but I do appreciate how supportive he, and every other coach is to have, the new: Tomozuna! Very good video. Thank you to the JSA, and Hiro Morita for your work in this.

He was promoted to makuuchi in May 2011 tournament which means he was supposed to debut on March 2011 but with the Tohoku Earthquake his debut was delayed. 4:51 Wow, Takamisakari! Nice to see footage from nowadays' "smiling judge". Back when rikishi were still allowed to make noise to pump themselves up. 7:25 Love the final phrase, "I know it might be inconvenient (for you to assist) but it would be a privilege to say that an extra person came to participate (cutting my hair)"
