Also worth noting. Gilgamesh will occasionally appear in the Hall and offer you a Rift of his own. Clear it, and he'll give you one of several unique accessories. Among them, for this build specifically, there's Lionheart that has Knight's Invincible on it and Hermes Sandals has Dragoon's Sovereign of the Skies on it. This'll save you some Affinity.

Also to note, Gilgamesh starts appearing from floor 22 onwards and starts giving rifts. You must clear his rifts to get his rewards.

@@georgehatzimanolakis1904 you'll have to look through class affinities manually and find which one has Clear Mind and see it's effect. Gilgamesh Accessories give the 400% effect of one class.

I am truly annoyed by how frustratingly difficult the rift content can be at times so this build helps a LOT with that. I am currently working with a summoner build from the last patch that I threw together fairly quickly from another video guide maker and it finally allowed me to clear Gilgamesh on floor 15 with a bit of luck, thanks to my mp not reaching maximum and lack of cubes... I had previously found out the hard way that losing all your dimension points deletes all of your progress in the rift, completely. So I had to do a few hours of grinding to get enough Gil to buy ethers, elixirs and the like to even beat Gilgamesh. That said, this build is built around this new difficulty setting so I am going to attempt to build something as close as I can get to it just to make my life that much easier. I am not the best player around so this forced difficulty hike just to clear the story content is a bit frustrating to me, but it does make for a challenge. Thanks for the epic summoner build! It really makes me happy that it's such a useful and fun to play job, considering how disappointed I am with blue mage presently. If in the future you manage to find a way to make blue mage as fun to play and endgame viable I'd love to see a video on it at one point! From what I've gathered it seems to be mostly physical based depending on the attack you use on it, but because ability descriptions don't mention anything I can't confirm that yet

As in without the use of items, where are you getting enough MP to maintain Bahamut because you only start with 2 bars, meaning you can’t reliably pop abilities or lightbringer making enemies stupidly difficult to kill, as without Bahamut the build cannot function

Then in regular content it’s borderline useless because you can’t fuel MP, like for example the boss rush missions. You have 2 bars and can’t do anything with them

@Shade 0 Use Chain canceling on sub job (Ninja or White Mage) to max your Guage. Summoner 250 for that ability I think. Then just use lancet, mighty strikes, lunatic and use Bahamut.

Can I just say your editing is amazing

I'll give this build a try. up until now I've been maining dragoon since the jump is both super evasive and can do massive break damage. Dragoon can make a lot of bosses that would otherwise be challenging into a cakewalk, especially in chaos mode. The great thing about this game is there are so many ways to play it, and many of them incredibly fun.

Only a few days since the DLC dropped and you already got a new build The chaos is strong with this guy 😀

Blue Mage is rather nasty as well using a simular build but focusing on whatever ability you set on your accessory and using LB and invincible.

This is cool. I just started playing again today as the third dlc dropped. Was lost and naturally went to summoner with invincibility on extra mode to get to gilgamesh levels. My question is how do you help control what gear you find? Or is it always just random for affinities. Is it certain missions will have a higher chance for certain affinities? All the guides I see just say to kill the same missions over and over for gear.

Thanks for the guide. Any advice on how to increase job levels above 150? I don't see any limit releases available anymore

Hey Jay-z, thanks so much for posting this. I’ve been running summoner since your last build video in the last DLC. I think I may have a fundamental misunderstanding of sub jobs though. I see you demonstrate how important it is to have affinities on the sub job, yet, my understanding is that those affinities are only active when you are playing as the sub job. As in, they don’t affect you when you are playing summoner. I haven’t seen the affinities of my sub jobs affect me when I am playing my main class. Have I been wrong all this time? You’re saying the affinities on sub job are always active?

Affinities on your job are only active when you are on that job. They become inactive when you switch.

I've tried it, having 600% berserker on subjob won't replenish lightbringer when you soul burst with your mainjob. He must've also use 600 berserker on his summoner exhibition example 3:18

He did say that having 600% Berserker is only for bosses, you switch to White Mage before Soul Bursting the Boss so you get a free Lightbringer, then you switch back to Summoner. That's the only use for affinities on your sub

Your sub job is best used for applying your buffs, so loading that job up with +duration, improved effect or duration on gear is best. That allows you to focus max damage on your primary. No need for light bringer duration on your primary.

What are all of the floors that have storyline content on them? Does the new storyline end at floor 20?

Awesome build! I mostly run Breaker/Ninja but will have to give this a go. Do you have any tips on how to efficiently farm job crests? Everyone recommends running The Warrior on story mode, but I find that really slow. Took well over an hour just to get enough to fuse one item.

The only issue with crests is having to have the jobs you want crests for as one of your sets...after that? Its just a grind killing things hoping crests drop. I've personally been doing ebon: the warrior and scarlet: stranger despair for a decent amount of mobbing (stranger despair also has a few quick chests which can drop up to 3 crest types and 3 of each type at most) difficulty doesn't really matter for crest drop rates from what I've seen/experienced. Wish we could just buy them off bahamut's shop

@@craigfunk3453 I found a better way to get them! Replay "Wanderer" at Ancient Chaos Shrine and kill the 2 cactaurs at the start over and over. They're guaranteed to drop crests and there's cubes right beside to reset.

I'm a bit confused. How are you getting use of the Berserker 600 percent (activate lightbringer on soulburst) while you are using the Summoner job if you only have 600 percent berserker on the White Mage loadout?

Are the affinity’s your character has on for this build at base or were they upgraded I’m currently on bahamut difficulty so maybe that’s why I haven’t found affinity lvls that high but was curious to know if it’s possible to get each equipment with affinity lvls of 400 or at least 200

The affinities get higher the higher your gear level is. Bahamut difficulty will let u level ur gear to 400 so your affinities will be around 150-180 on each piece and a little higher on some of ur weapons. Gilgamesh difficulty will give u lvl 500 gear which gives u around 200-220 affinities

I'll try to answer for both of you, The stymied mission is very easy to farm on higher difficulties to get good equipment, At least enough to beat chaos mode and maybe bahamut mode. The mission in sunken shrine where you have to kill and ogre and marlboro is very easy to do on max dragon treasure difficulty because using the spear skill wild thrusts, you can just push them off the ledges. With enough dragon treasures, you can buy some equipment to finish a decent build. The hard part comes in getting job crests, so you can create equipment with your desires job affinities.

@@Mako_SOLDIER the equipped jobs you have increase the likelihood of the crest drop chance. So whatever crest you're trying to get, just have it as your secondary job. I haven't found a specific chapter to go farm in yet.

This is an effect that gives you max MP limit when chain canceling. I believe from Summoner affinities. You can only do it with white mage if you have the ability to cast the white mage spells for free. Otherwise you need to use Ninja tools on the Ninja class.

What are you pressing to do the spin attack please?

Just a heads up that as of Patch1.23, the Berserker 600% affinity ability now works with Bahamut's instant soul burst meaning it's more viable

Where is that damage coming from exactly?

Why is it that when I make this build I do about 10%-20% the damage of the clips in this video?

I have these same affinities but my lightbringer is ending real fast and taking a hit isn't that tanky. What am I missing?

are u having all lightbringer duration perk on white mage and activating the lightbringer when you are white mage? the duration is depends on the class you activate the lightbringer.

@@Darealpokgai spirit, soul burst mp recovery, and soul shield mp recovery is what I have on my WHM pieces bc that's what he has. I've been soul bursting on whm to re-enter or refresh the lightbringer but I didn't start the initial lightbringer on it. Is that my error? Edit: in the video he goes into lightbringer on summoner

@@Mako_SOLDIER Multi-hit attacks really catch you by surprise with this build. Gotta watch out for those. Single hits aren't a problem, since you can just re-apply Lightbringer.

You can use a mega ether or elixir before you go through the portal and it gives you MP that stays when you enter the mission

@@it_is_kevin And that’s exactly why this build is useless, and pretty much click bait. In regular content and especially in missions against only bosses the build cannot function because you’re for the most part going to be stuck at 2 MP bars which isn’t enough, then for the rifts you HAVE to rely on max MP boosting items constantly or it doesn’t work

What is the MAX floor? 100? 200? 300? Or ???

It has diminishing returns. You can go as high as you want but after a certain point, it will not benefit a lot.

I’m farming for this job. I’m fusing my gears with special effects like Damage Dealt: Zantetsuken, MP Cost: Zantetsuken, mainly these two. For others, Strength, Near Death Damage Dealt, Lightbringer Duration or Charged Attack Damage Dealt. Lightbringer duration is for when I’m using dimension bringer.

@@chriswatkins4589 i feel like they should put something between 400 to 600 too. Like lets say if it is Dark knight, 450% increase some strrength, stamina and int. 500% Near Death damage dealt. 550% another stats increase. something like that. 200% is really a big jump

I tried out Dragoon 600 once. Its just base lancet I think, with no way to improve it. Thought I could replace lancet with tachi, but it was awful.

Doing azure memories the stymied to farm lvl 500 gear and dragon/void treasure withnrank 7. Have 3 presets: blkMage/shadowmaste to boost mp gauge, blkMage/thief to steal potions and BlkMage/arch wizard with liberator, thief, sage and void 400% for soul burst, ailies receive potion effects, void mp recovery and command cost. Black mage killer with areoga using 400% blkMage, tyrant, redMage and evoker with maurader, breaker, void and whtMage over 160%. Yhese have been stable combination for mynplay style. Its getting right affinity combinations and creast farming frustrions.

Stymied is a mission you do in the snow mountains, very short and easy to clear, even if you do crap damage. Do that enough times until you get a somewhat decent build. You also get anima crystals, to level yourself up.

There;s a single mission you have to clear at chaos shrine now, you fight a single griffon, after that you unlock gilgamesh difficulty.

You have to play the wanderer main mission. It's all the way at the bottom of the mission list so you might not notice it at first

On sage I'm using evo 400 + Magic regen and Magic sigil mp cost down for near infinite mp. Lancet added on that is infinite mp once you hit a weakness or debuff the mob

I rly like the base game, but the endgame is so annoying, i dont even want to start, and dont know how. This built needs superhigh percentage of the classes and lots of farming, but this game just feds me up.
